This year, I really wanted to keep our Christmas decorations very classic and traditional! I didn't change too much from the year before but just spruced and added even more of what we already had. We planned a fun team day where we all came to the house, pulled out all the Christmas decorations, and divided and conquered. We turned up the Christmas music, rocked around the Christmas tree(s), and dressed the house in tinsel, all in a day's work!

On the outside of the house, we kept everything really simple! The smartest thing we did was hire somebody to hang red and white string lights on the house. They were finished in no time, and it's just so nice to be able to see the house lit up from the street. The wreaths on the windows and potted Christmas trees are from years past but are still just as beautiful.

I love a really droopy garland swagged on the grand staircase. It's super low effort but high impact, especially with the floppy bows tied with the prettiest burgundy ribbon.
Over the years, I've collected an absurd amount of tabletop Christmas trees and little Christmas houses. They look like a mini Christmas tree farm all grouped together, which is the kitchy aesthetic I'm going for.
Study

Into the study! I kept it really simple and set up our flocked Christmas tree; that's about five years old! It's still a stunner, even after all this time.
Living Room
The living room, where the magic all happens, is my trickiest room of all to decorate for! I'm really itching to open up the ceiling for some skylights in the new year and update the fireplace... etc. As far as Christmas decor, I kept it simple and classic, and I really love how nostalgic and cozy it feels. Can't wait to wake up Christmas morning with the girls, huddled around the fireplace and tinsel-covered tree.
Would you believe me if I told you the tapered candles on the mantle aren't real? They're beyond lifelike, flicker like a flame, and are operated with a little remote!
Everything about the mantle takes my breathe away.

When we were designing our kitchen, I couldn't help but anticipate decorating these shelves with Christmas decor and trinkets! This is actually our first year even having a kitchen to decorate for the Holidays since last year, it was still very much under construction.

Bonus Room
This room very well might be my favorite Christmasy decorated space. The decor amidst the blue walls and plaid patterned pillows is both cozy and breathtaking.
Everything in here feels quaint and charming while also remaining more kid-friendly. Since we spend a lot of time up here as a family, it only made sense to deck the halls with bows and ribbons rather than precious ornaments and keepsakes.
If you don't quite have a large collection of ornaments but still want a pretty Christmas tree, do yourself a favor and buy a couple of spools of ribbon. Pretty tied bows go a long way!

We decorated the house for Christmas right before Thanksgiving, and I will say it made our Thanksgiving day with family feel so special and intimate. I tend to take down all the Christmas decorations before New Year's, so it's especially nice to get to enjoy the decorations all month long.
