16 Aesthetic Cleaning Supplies You Won't Want to Hide

January 19, 2023

Last week I mentioned how I desperately need some borrowed height in the kitchen, AKA a step-stool. We've made it this far without needing and using one because we don't store our day-to-day items out of reach! For those far and few in-between moments where we actually do need to reach up high, I usually grab a nearby chair, and it's easy peasy, lemon squeezy. And also, I've just been skeptical of finding a step-stool aesthetically worthy of being a part of this kitchen! Well, I found the perfect aesthetic step stool, which is now the chair at the kitchen desk. Let me show you!

Unlock the latch, and with one little flip, it's a beautiful, functional step stool! I'm obsessed, and it feels right at home in our kitchen. Let's see it in action!

It really got me thinking about the importance of joining both aesthetics and function. With how design has evolved, you do not have to compromise on one to have the other, including your cleaning supplies and utility items!

Upgrading Your Cleaning Supplies

I've talked about "good-looking ugly stuff" before and the importance of elevating your everyday kitchen items, and today we're talking about elevating your home with aesthetic cleaning supplies! Over the years, I've learned I really enjoy surrounding myself with beauty. It's why I love what I do so much, and it's also why I try to be aware of the products I buy, including the scrubbers in the kitchen sink!

Our days are spent interacting with these "things" in our homes, and I've learned that I'm just happier wiping my countertops with an aesthetic gray microfiber cloth than a lime green one (can you blame me?). It all comes down to personal preference and tapping into what makes you happy, but elevating these small interactions with aesthetic cleaning supplies can make a difference!

Upgrading your cleaning supplies allows you to confidently leave out the kitchen and toilet bowl scrubbers without embarrassment when guests visit!–No shame in leaving out the toilet wand if it's stored in an aesthetic canister. One of the pain points in our house is that our current cleaning closet situation isn't ideal. It's on our 2023 project list, and I guess that's another reason why I've got aesthetic cleaning supplies on my mind–because I'm in need!

Under the kitchen sink

That being said, I'm pretty proud of what's happening under the kitchen sink! While it's not filled with the prettiest of cleaning products, everything we keep down here is essential to cleaning the kitchen, and they're all organized and tidy, which also gives me that oh-so-good dopamine release.

There's no need to throw out all the non-aesthetic things in your home, but if you're itching to swap out a few eyesores and level up your day-to-day, here are some recommendations that are sure to spark some joy in your life.

  1. The Chair Step Ladder looks nice! How difficult was the assembly? Reviews from several sites have many complaints about needing to drill your own holes for the self-tapping screws and poor assembly instructions.

    1. If I remember right, there were some in the "good looking ugly stuff" post that she referenced from a few years ago.

    2. I store my toilet brush/holder set inside a decorative ceramic vase (6"d x 13"h) . I bet you could find something a bit wider for a plunger.

  2. You have inspired me to find pretty things like toilet brushes, and plungers, and I’m starting to do that. A while back, I remember showing a gift wrap organization behind the door. Clearly not on display, but I’d love to know where I can find that.

My Storage Hack for Organizing Christmas Decorations

Every year when I pack up the decorations after Christmas, I collect all of the garlands together in one box, I get all the candlesticks together in another box, and all my nativity sets go into their own box. We label the boxes "garlands," "candles," "nativity sets,"...which seems great until you remember that you have […]

Cranberry-Glazed Ham

What do you make for Christmas dinner? Sometimes we'll do a prime rib or a roast turkey, but this year, I'm going all out with a Christmas ham that just looks festive. For this recipe, I made a cranberry-orange glaze with some warm winter spices that takes this ham to the next level. Oh and […]
