I've been in a love affair with bubble lights for a few years (ever since I chose one for Faye's room). I love putting a bubble light in a space that could benefit from some whimsy. This one, I originally picked out for our dining room, but as soon as I found the mural for the study, I knew it could use something a little modern, and a little whimsical. It looks like a cloud in the sky with the scenic, traditional mural. I have never spent that much on a light before, but I saw this exact bubble light I in the parade of homes here a few months ago and it took my breath away. I had already ordered it, slated for the dining room, but as soon as I started making plans for the mural room--I knew it belonged here.
Seeing it hung today makes my heart jump, which is kind of what I was going for. This room is the first you see when you walk in the front door and the light goes so far in making an impactful first impression.
With such a hunky light, I knew adding a ceiling medallion would help ground the fixture and compliment the traditional nature of the rest of the room. Such a small detail added so much--I love that extra detailing! Surprisingly, this is our first time adding a ceiling medallion and now I want to put one in my bedroom also...
As fun as bubble lights are, be sure to pay attention to the number of bulbs and the dimensions when you shop! In Faye's room, I believe there were 3 bulbs which offered a nice light and this one has 12 smaller bulbs which offer a great glow all around. I've rounded up some jaw-droppingly gorgeous bubble fixtures so you can get the same look at every price point, priced from low to high. Take a look!

Music Room Becomes the Study + a Mood Board
Hello! Such a lovely space! I have installed the Talia in my dining room and am enjoying the whimsy it has brought to the space. I am now wondering how I am going to clean it. I haven’t had luck finding any online guidance and was wondering what your plans are. I know it will take a while, but eventually the inside of the globes will need a good cleaning 🤔💕
There’s just not an affordable dupe for that Talia chandelier! It’s perfect in every way except for that insane price! Do you feel like the smaller sized version would also be workable in a dining room?
I bet it would depending on the size of your room!
15x17 and9 ft ceilings
What do think of a bubble light over an island or chandelier in general instead of pendants?
I love that idea!
Love your bubble light so much! I am curious what made you choose the plaster white over the gold? My instinct would be to go gold in this room.
I really wanted it to feel like a cloud without contrast from the ceiling
Thought I saw some faux peonies on the desk in your stories. I’d love a source, thanks!
From right here!
Hi! It’s beautiful. I’m curious how tall the ceilings are in this room? We have 10 ft ceilings on the main floor but I always worry about lights hanging down too low!
We have 10' as well!
Visual comfort makes the best lighting!
