This week's big project is getting ready for our yard sale on Saturday morning, and we aren't holding back. Our last (and only other) yard sale was in March of 2011 before we closed on this house. It was cold, but successful and somehow we still managed to move from a two bedroom apartment and fill an entire house with stuff. So, we are ready to purge and cleanse again.
Some shockers, right? Don't mistake our willingness to purge with the ease of saying goodbye to some of our favorite items, like that shaggy rug, the arc lamp and our bridge picture--and that's just the living room! But there is a great feeling of rejuvenation to be able to clean out spaces and pantries and entire rooms and make room for new ideas. Anyone else doing some spring summer cleaning? Planning a yard sale? Or maybe you found something great at one recently? I can't wait to make room for new yard sale finds.
See you Saturday??
Oh great! Thank you so much Ellis! :)
That art's from Ikea. :)
How much for the IKEA print? Would you be willing to ship it?! I live in Iowa.
Thanks!
Kate, I am not sure how I would ship it to you. It is pretty large. I could possibly take it apart and roll it up? If it doesn't sell on Saturday, I'll be happy to work out details with you.
We don't have an IKEA store in IA (and it's not available to purchase online) and I've been drooling over this piece for a while!! It reminds me of the Monte Verde Cloud Forest in Costa Rica, which is where my hubby and I got married and honeymooned. Let me know if it's available?! Thanks!!!
Gimme shaggy rug!!! I just wanna lay on it! I can't wait to hear about the yard sale!!!
Hope you have lots of success and sales. Our stuff isn't worth selling....so whenever we move and want to get rid of our stuff, it will be to Good Will. I can't wait to start new and fresh!
Good luck with your sale! I'd stop by and buy the arc lamp if I lived in Utah!
We planned this yardsale before the inspiration photo landed in my inbox, but it was definitely the fire we needed to be okay with saying goodbye to things we may have hoarded longer. :)
Wow! Wish I lived in your area - way to purge! :)
Wow, looks like that Elle Decor photo really lit a fire under you :) Or maybe you were already ready to say goodbye to this stuff (I don't want to be presumptuous). I AM surprised to see the arc lamp go, but a brand new space is so exciting! Good luck with the sale. Can't wait to see how this room takes shape.
I know! I know. :/ About the round tables AND the arc lamp. We'll see if the lamp actually makes it outside. Hahaha
I can't believe you're getting rid of the arc lamp! You just got it! Totally wish I was in the area, I'd snatch it up :) Good luck! Can't wait to see the results! I've been following your pinterest, love the new round coffee tables you've been pinning. I've been looking for the perfect one for months (perfect being both aesthetically pleasing AND budget friendly). Seems chunky round wooden tables are hard to find for under $200 :(
If you are serious, we are pricing it at $150 since it is only a month or so old. Let me know!
I will buy the Arc lamp from you TODAY and come pick it up tomorrow :) :) I'm kinda serious...
Too bad I live in a different country or I'd come and scoop up that art. Love it. Do you recall where you got it from? It's beautiful.
BAH! Why don't you live near me! I need that rug, like really need it. Good luck with your yard sale :)
We hope to eventually be able to hold onto pieces for around ten years (or longer!), but we are still working on finding our home's style and what works well in it. Even though we love something, it doesn't always mean it will work well in this house--it's an interesting lesson we're learning over here. Bear with us. :)
Wow, I am debating on selling piecs I've had for 25 years. I have to admit I don't understand turning possessions so quickly, but I kind of admire it. I wouldn't mind finding a middle ground between your style and mine.
