Our home's color scheme is filled with black, white, gray, green and blue--and then there is that red door of ours--which we absolutely love. Although it might seem a little out of place once you open our door and there is no other red in sight, it somehow fits in perfectly--especially now that we have added another little pop of red.
I found this little red chair at the thrift store last week for $3 and I knew I couldn't go home without it. Plus, Greta had spotted it too and anything her size she is immediately drawn to and then attached to. On the back, "Virco" is printed. They mainly manufacture chairs for schools (all of those chairs you remember sitting on back in the day--probably Virco) and new, this pint-sized one runs around $30 everywhere I looked--but it seems you have to buy them in quantities of at least 4.
Unless you can find them at a thrift store, I guess. I love the pop of red and the vintage schoolhouse feel. It's small enough that it doesn't interfere with walking space and its location, right under the clock, would make it a perfect time-out chair.
Except for the fact that Greta absolutely loves sitting on it.
Has anyone else found something good thrifting lately? This little red chair has surprisingly made up for the no luck I had finding a console for the living room--which what I was really on the hunt for. I think pops of red have that effect. Does anybody remember sitting on these in school?
Love your paint color, What grey is it..the red looks gorgeous against it!
It is absolutely adorable! It does provide a nice dramatic pop of colour against your neutral palette. Definitely a good find.
lucky!! Thrifting is almost always a miss for me.
It's so cute! I love the tiny size and the added pop of red. Thrifting is always hit or miss for me but last month I found a vintage campaign dresser for $15 and then later that day I scored a set of 8 china plates that used to retail for $18/each (they've been discontinued) but I got all 8 for $4.36!
Funny how that happened! Especially since I rarely go "thrifting." I love the term "op shopping"! So much!
First a thrifting post from YHL and now your great find! I know what I will be doing with my day off from work today! THRIFTING! In Australia we call it op shopping - short for opportunity store shopping.
Yellow sounds so sweet!
I had 4 of them in yellow that I got for like $15 practically brand new...used them for my in-home daycare.
Haha! Such a great find! :)
