A couple weeks ago, we got to make Christmas cookies with the girls and yesterday we shared our favorite recipe and a few photos over on Crate and Barrel's blog. Over the years we have learned it's not about the way the cookies taste (they WILL have too much frosting), or how they look (really, way too much frosting--gobs on top of gobs), or the mess that will be made (flour. everywhere.)--it's about the memories and traditions we're able to make as a family--and there's not a more heart-warming feeling or sight. So, we pump up the Christmas playlist, hang some garland across the range hood, don our aprons and take a few hours together in the kitchen.
You can see the full article along with links to everything we used and the recipe, right here. The girls' favorite part was definitely stamping the cookies for Santa. If you don't already have this cookie stamper, it's a serious hit!
More fun things this week!
It didn't make it on to any of our gift guides, but this Smartphone printer would make such a great gift. It can print photos directly from your smartphone through WiFi!
My favorite wallpaper and favorite fixture in one picture.
Last weekend, we hosted a little game night at our house with friends and I snapped us playing an old-school table top game that a few of you asked me about. It's called Skittles. It's a game I grew up playing and a few years ago, Chris and I bought the game to have in our own home. It's such a crowd pleaser game that gets everyone going. You can get it here.
How to mix and match nightstands (I needed to read this!)
Yesterday, we wrapped a two day video shoot with Frigidaire, in our home. We've been working on pre-production for months and it all came to fruition this week. It was so much fun and a lot of work and I can't wait to show you what we have been working on. This was our last major project of the year and I can't tell you how much lighter my shoulders feel today. We're ready for the holiday to be here. Ready to focus a little more on our family and ready for a nap.
Have a happy weekend! We're painting the guest room and spending some time on the couch just staring at the christmas tree, too (because isn't that the best?!).
Could please tell me where got the swag above the stove and also the one in the girls room.
That cookie stamper!!! My little would love that! We also have a hot mess cookie making tradition and we cherish every moment of it. Merry Christmas!

How do you hang your garland on the range hood without damaging it?
I've already told you this, but that top photo is so sweet! You GUYS.
Your kitchen is gorgeous. I LOVE the island. I just want to drape myself on it. LOL
I look forward to the tradition of baking every year too. It can be challenging with little ones who want to control everything but I must remind myself we are laying the foundation for a tradition and memories for years to come! Love your garland - it's not real is it? I Need a beautiful fake one like that in my life!
Not real. :) It's this one.
Thank you so much for linking to the Skittles game. You just gave me hygge ( I hope I'm using that right).
It's a game we used to play at my grandparents house in Maine during the summer. So much fun and such good memories.
:)
