We are headed to Las Vegas Market tomorrow!!! We'll be launching our cabinet line with Semihandmade! We'll be at their booth all day on Sunday (pavilion 2 booth 8004) and speaking and answering questions on a panel at 4pm (pavilion 1, number 1 seminar room). If you're around, we'd love for you to stop by! And if you aren't in the Las Vegas area this weekend, you can still celebrate with us by entering the giveaway right here! We're giving away $10,000 worth of cabinet doors from our new line and it closes Monday.
Other fun things this week:
• We shared an impromptu Instagram live home tour on Instagram yesterday. Go watch it before it's gone!
• We forgot we had these pendants in storage and added them to the cabin kitchen (see a sneak peek here!) and I'm obsessed with them, but they might be a little big for the space. For now, all the heart eyes. All of them.
• I started listening to the COLD podcast, detailing the disturbing story of the Josh Powell case. Creeeepyyy but I can't get enough.
• My new favorite earrings (I got the multi-colored!) are 40% off with code YESPLEASE.
• I got this faux leather moto jacket in black last fall and have worn it so much I'm considering getting the exact same one in the gray. It's that good.
• I'm here for this story about an old tree stump turned...mini library!
Lastly! I've been getting a lot of questions about my everyday makeup. I shared it once awhile back, but I've updated and simplified my look using the products below. It takes me under 5 minutes and I like to keep it pretty natural looking.
1. Anastasia Beverly Hills Powder Bronze in Rich Amber: I use this as a contour in my cheek bones and jawline
2. NARS Blush in Orgasm
3. IT Cosmetics Brow Power Universal Eyebrow Pencil :(I also like the Anastasia Brow Wiz in Medium Brown, but have really been loving this IT brow pencil lately!)
4. IT Cosmetics Superhero Mascara : My mascara is the one thing I haven't ever been over the moon about. It's all been pretty good but not great. THIS IS AMAZING! Trust.
5. St. Tropez Bronzing Face Mist : A few sprays of this before applying my makeup every other morning keeps me glowy
6. Smashbox Studio Skin Concealer in Light
7. IT Cosmetics CC Cream in Medium Tan : (I only started getting compliments on my very imperfect skin after I started using this)
8. Blistex Deep Renewal : Ride or die, baby.
9. Burt's Bees Tinted Lip Balm in Red Dahlia: I've already turned a few of you onto this tinted chapstick that is the perfect natural color in a super moisturizing chapstick.
10. Too Faced Sun Bunny Bronzer
Hope you have a great weekend! Any recommendations for dinner while in Vegas? We're overwhelmed with options.
I thought I remembered you using some tanning drops that you love but can't find the information anywhere. I would love to buy them if they are in the Sephora sale!
I love the IT CC cream as well! I'm thinking to try the St. Tropez face mist, did you find that you had to change your IT CC cream color once you started using the tanning face mist?
Yes I did! I used to wear medium and now I wear medium tan.
I just started the COLD Podcast yesterday after you mentioned it in your stories and OH. MY. GOODNESS. So creepy indeed!!! I can't believe all the journal entries and voice recorded stuff. Thanks for the recommendation!
Seeing your updated makeup bag makes me feel a little better about my own haha. Your makeup routine is pretty in line with what I like to do when I wear makeup, (and I think you've touched on it before but I can't find it if you did...) but what is your night time skin care routine or what products do you recommend? Is Kiehl's your go-to? Trying to focus on some self love this year and your recommendations are usually on point. Thanks!
I use Kiehl's midnight cleansing oil, Kiehl's deep cleansing foaming face wash, AlphaRet overnight cream and Kiehl's super multi corrective cream.
Off topic question. So maybe I'm crazy, but wasn't there a post from Chris about un-fried chicken wings? I can't see it now?
There was! It was published a little prematurely. Coming soon!
LOVE this! Could you also share your brushes you use for your blush and bronzer?
I just got them at Ulta. I don't even know which ones haha
Do you have a hair how-to/tips? Extra love for how your hair looked in the last Q&A video.
I wear these extensions! They really help add fullness.
this is a weird question but how do you store the extensions?! I have been wanting to get them for a while but I want to make sure they last :)
I love that Burt's Bees Red Dahlia lip balm. I have really pale lips, and it gives them just the right amount of color to look natural when I need to moisturize them.
I’m on the hunt for the lip balm! Went to go get it last night and there were none left. Will keep trying. Thanks for sharing these amazing products and how you use them! I recommend Sinatra, Yellowtail, and Le Cirque. Enjoy!
Your makeup always looks flawless. So you don’t set it with any powder? I have the same foundation, but I feel oily without powder even though I have dry skin. Just wondering how your makeup stays throughout the day with a liquid foundation and concealer but no powder. Have you always done if this way? Does it dry after a while?
It seems to set itself after a little bit, but I know people that use setting powder too! I have some Laura Mercier setting powder but I only use it for special occasions. haha
In an old post, you mentioned you were thinking about getting a micro needler. Did you ever get one and what was your experience?
Hmm, I don't remember that!
Hi! Can you link your lighted mirror you can were using in your stories? Thanks!
Here it is!
Love this and love everything you post! I remember when you did a makeup tutorial previously you used a brush to put on the CC cream. Curious why you switched to the beauty blender? Do you like it better? I love your tips, you always look beautiful!
I think it makes it look more natural. I like it better
Eat at Served! It’s just outside of Vegas and truly one of the best meals of my life. It’s small, and the chef came out personally to see how we liked our food. He’s a super talented guy with an insanely cool menu. Look it up online!
That sounds so good! Thank you!
Hi can you share what brushes you use?
I just got them at Ulta, nothing special!
Thank you for the tutorial! Loved your streamlined routine! Q: can you please you re-state what the application sponge was that you used? I think I’m finalky going to buy the CCcream & want to do it right! Thx tons
Beauty blender
It looked like a real techniques sponge!
Yes I think you're right!
Can you link the makeup mirror you used in the tutorial? Thanks.
For your health, please check into organic, non-toxic products. The Environmental Working Group publishes lists of the safest products. Three companies I have been quite pleased with are Vapour Organics, Thrive Cosmetics (super mascara), and Consonant. What goes on your body goes in your body!
The Bardot Brasserie inside the Aria is AMAZING. Best French cuisine I’ve had outside of Paris. Their escargot and gnocchi are to die for.
Hi! Can you link the vanity mirror you were using during the makeup tutorial?
Here ya go!
Love all of this! Where are your pants (photo above, cropped wide leg LOVE) from??
I got them last year, but they are nearly identical to these.
xoxo
Thanks for this! I loved watching your stories. Such a natural and pretty look! I have to ask- how do you get your teeth so white?!
I use crest white strips!
Loved watching your makeup story. :) I am 37 and I still feel like I am learning to use makeup. I have a question about your routine. You mentioned using the spray after you wash your face. Do you also wear a moisturizer? Or does your foundation do the trick? Thanks for the tutorial!
I use kiehls super multi corrective moisturizer and then the spray.
Italian restaurant in MGM grand is so good. Seriously.
The company I work for will be at Vegas but I won't. So sad... would've loved to have seen your speech & Q&A. Good luck!
Jeans! Where are they from :] if you don't mind sharing!
J.Crew!
Have you created a "shop our home" for the cabin? More specifically where are the gray plaid throw pillows from -- the ones on the green chairs?? Thx!
Not yet but we plan to! They are from Rejuvenation. Here's a link!
I did it. I finally bought the face mist. Fingers crossed!
Thanks for showing us the makeup routine!!! I love your goal from last year and I may need to make it mine for this year: get ready every morning. I have 3 girls too! I think I’d be more productive and feel better about myself if I got ready every day. Thank you for inspiring me in many ways!
Curious if you prefer the bronzing mist over the Loving Tan self-tanning mouse that you’ve mentioned before? Thanks!
I use the loving tan all over my body and the mist on my face. Love both so much.
This is such an annoying question, but will you post where you got that scrunchie you storied about a couple days ago? I didn't want it then, but now I do. :)
Right here.
That free library! Looks amazing! Thanks for sharing it. ;)
The people with the tree library are my neighbors! It's crazy how much that story has made its rounds. So cool that it caught your attention.
Hi Julia! Love that jacket! I'm also 6' and you and I have similar body type - what size did you get the jacket in? Thanks!
Small!
Haha I was just going to ask the same question! That jacket is super cute! I am tall too and always have issues with my sleeves being too short on jackets. You don't have any issues with that with this jacket?
nope! It's so perfect.
Enjoy your trip to Vegas! Going to have to try that eyebrow pencil.
Question. Seeing your Ikea Pax closet system, what are your thoughts after living with them for several months? We are about to purchase them ourselves. Our closet is 17' deep by 9' wide. I've weighed all the options (other closet systems like Elfa- which we have throughout our house) and wondering if its what you would do again? Ok, that's 2 questions!
We couldn't love our closet more. Would 100% do the same thing again.
