Okay, I know it's not even Halloween yet, but if you're in the market for a Christmas tree this year, then NOW is the time to order. That is if you plan to have it up and decorated in time for Christmas! Shipping is crazy right now, and most of these are set to arrive in November and generally sell out by the time you remember this was the year you were gonna get a new tree. You know what they say about the early bird. It gets the dang Christmas tree (or something like that.)! I keep my holiday decor pretty minimal for the most part, but I am all about having a stunning tree with all of the magical, sentimental ornaments. I just love pulling out all of the ornaments the kids made in school the years before and hanging them on the tree, reminiscing about how big they've grown. Christmas this year might honestly feel a bit like it did 2 years ago (mid-construction), but we're trying to stay positive here.
We brought this Christmas tree with us in the move, but I'm trying to figure out if it will work in our new living room! See more photos of Christmas around the Modern Cottage in this post here.
This Christmas tree has been with us for years. I love to have a cute humble, more sparse tree and this one is all of those things!
I'll definitely be purchasing more table-top trees. This one made its' way throughout the house last season. So cute.
This was one the humble sparse tree was our main tree, 2 houses ago.
And I love a good flocked tree!
As you can see, we have had a HUGE variety of trees--I dream of getting a squatty chubby one for the stair landing sometime! Below we have rounded up all of the Christmas trees by type--Full, Sparse, Flocked and Tabletop--and sorted by price from lowest to highest. There's something here for every budget, every style, and every height!

Thank you so much! We just sold our 3 year old 9' tree because it was too much for us and we want to downsize. Then we were a little panicky that we would not be able to replace it and find a good one in time. Just chose one of these and we will have it very soon! Looking forward to seeing your NC Christmas preparations!
My perfect christmas tree is one we cut down ourselves! There is nothing better than the real scent of an evergreen.
Is the Grandinroad sale over or do I need a code? Thanks!
This is helpful, thank you! Are you putting a tree on your Juliet balcony? How cute would that be?!
I have to, right?!
OMG!!! YES! YES! YES!!!!
Could you tell me the size of your tree collar from crate & barrel? I saw on their site that there are 2 sizes :) thank you!
The 27"!
Thank you so much for doing this! I have been on the hunt for WEEKS! I purchased a tree today. I chose the flocked number 7 and there was a discount code that got me $100 off! My husband is especially grateful that I will stop asking him about the pros and cons of various trees!
I really loved your holiday decor last year. The rust colored ribbon was pretty on the stairway. Since moving east have yal considered getting a live tree from a local tree farm? There are usually different varieties to choose from and they really arent that hard to take care of. Maybe a gallon of water a day. I know that sounds like a lot haha but they are thirty after they've been freshly cut. Keep it watered and it will last. My grandparents opened a christmas tree farm after they retired and I have the most magical memories of spending time there as a kid. And nothing beats the smell of a fresh tree!! My brother and I used to lay underneath ours and look up through the branches at the twinkling lights. Im 37 and I still do this haha.. Love your content!!
Could be fun!!!
I’m looking for a slim profile, 10-12’, pre lit ( with WHITE lights not yellow!) flocked tree. Any suggestions?
Thank you so much for including prices next to links on your posts! And for ordering them least-most expensive. It helps so much for browsing.
We just got tabletop trees for the kids rooms and I'm so excited to put them up! Target has some great table top options this year!
You echo my vision of the perfect Christmas tree—one that reflects family and memories.
