Every year, I look forward to decorating one of my favorite corners in my home—the kitchen shelves! This year, I pulled out all the kitschy Christmas decor I had and styled a little moment, and I'm obsessed. There's just something so nostalgic about gingerbread houses, Santa ceramics, and all things snowmen, don't you think? I want to share with you some of my favorite kitschy yet chic Christmas decor ideas that you can sprinkle throughout your home this season, or do what I did and create one dedicated area.
Mostly all of this kitschy-ness is inspired by this faux gingerbread house I bought last year. I love finding pieces that we'll keep forever and ever, and this was one of those pieces. It even inspired us to get creative and DIY our own faux gingerbread houses with paper mache houses and dollops of white hot glue! (Full tutorial here.)

This time of year, you really can't go too hard on all the cute ceramic kitchenware. I spy with my little eye ceramic gingerbread mugs, a Santa plate, a pair of happy snowmen, and one of Santa's reindeer.

The pop of red and green plaid adds instant holiday cheer, and if those oven mitts don't inspire some holiday baking, I don't know what will! And I have yet to see a cuter Christmas candle than those darling pine trees.

I hope these little touches inspire you to pull out all the nostalgic, kitschy holiday decor you've been storing in your attic and go all out. And if you're looking to add a few things to the collection, look no further!
