My parents came for Thanksgiving this year and brought the Martinelli's. While we were feasting on all of the other goods that Chris and I (yes, I helped) cooked up, I was already eyeing those bottles and a festive centerpiece was conjuring up in my mind. This morning it all came together, beautifully:
The whole thing cost $3.50, thanks to my parents for leaving the bottles behind. All it took was three empty Martinelli's (you could definitely use a different large glass bottle...the green just screams Christmas), 3 branches cut from the trees surrounding my house right now (if you can't spot any berry-donned branches outside, check your craft store) and a homemade faux sheepskin--my only expense. Really simple and elegant and FESTIVE. So, I am sure you can figure out how to scrub off labels on empty bottles and cut branches, but let me give you some hints about how to snag your very own sheepskin.
I started with half a yard of faux sheepskin from Walmart's fabric department. They really wanted it to be clear that it was faux, so they put a giraffe print on back? Haha. No one's going to look there...hopefully.
Then I drew the basic shape of a sheepskin on the giraffe side and cut it out. It doesn't have to be symmetrical, I promise. That's it. Sooo...what do you want to do now? *crickets chirping*
Maybe you are thinking of recreating a similar centerpiece? Or just eyeing the mini sheepskin for that ottoman in your living room. How about I'll give you a head start. You see, 1/2 yard of the fabric really cost $6.99, BUT I got two faux skins out of it--hence the $3.50 cost.
And since it is Christmas time and all, I thought I would give the other one away. You're so lucky, huh? I know there are people that read my blog and never comment because maybe you don't really know me or maybe you are just shy or uninterested or maybe you don't know how to post a comment on blogger--whatever the reason, now is the time to get over all of that and get yourself a snazzy sheepskin.
For a shot at the little lamb leave the comment: Faux Sho! along with your favorite Holiday drink to chug. Mine is a toss up between Hot Cider and Egg Nog. MMmmm.
I'll announce the winner (along with Random.org) Thursday.

That's a beautiful centerpiece, Julia. Congratulations to you for putting it together. We shared a link to this blog post back in November on our Facebook page (facebook.com/MartinellisCo). Thanks for sharing it!
