How would you describe your home style? What about your personal style? Are the two related? The fourth episode of The Chris Loves Julia Podcast is live (links for listening at the end of the post!) and we tackle this question we get all the time in a way that only three best friends (when two of them are guys) could. To help, we called one of the most stylish people I know, both in dress and home, Elsie Larson of A Beautiful Mess!
There isn't a more adorable, humble, talented, ambitious, inspirational girl out there (unless you look to her sister Emma) and I loved all of her down-to-earth advice and stories. We have a blast in this episode (read: I laugh the entire time) and we hope you have as much fun listening to it. We'd love to know what you thought of the episode and/or what your home style and the story of how you got to that point in the comments! If you're new to podcasts, I left a bunch of different ways to listen to The Chris Loves Julia Podcast below.

We record these each week in Preston’s studio and it is f-u-n. We have a killer line-up of guests that will blow you away and topics we can’t wait to share. so helpful to hear that you can like something without it being your style! i think i knew that instinctively, but i hadn't really acknowledged that concept or put any thought into it. not recognizing the difference is what causes me to see something i love in a store, buy it, put it in the house, and then later wonder why something feels off or i'm losing the love for it so quickly. but duhhhhh, i can like something without it fitting into my style. will try to remember this next time i am deciding whether to buy something that catches my eye!
I LOVED this episode!!! I realized my personal style is full of dark and dramatic colors, but my house is super light. Thinking of injecting some dark ASAP! Thanks for opening my eyes!
Would love to see Preston's kitchen renovation that he mentioned on the podcast. I was able to find the Neapolitan exterior post but not the kitchen. Can you share a link? thanks!
Yes! It's right here.
I'm a long time follower and fan of you and Chris! I would love to tap into the podcast but am deaf and can't understand sounds if I'm not looking straight at the source (I.e., lip reading). I know you've already gotten a comment about transcripts and would love to add my yes vote for having those available!
I am a major podcast junkie so I was happy to subscribe. The episode on style was great! I loved Chris' point about knowing how he wants a space to "feel". I think that is very good advice for people who are unsure of a distinct style.
Is there any copies of transcripts of any of the podcasts available? I'd love to be able to "listen" in if I could!
No stress if there isn't, just thought I would ask.
We're looking into that, Erin! We'd love that for you, too. :)
