5 Additional Gift Guides:

Bookmark this page, as we'll continue to share more of our favorite gift ideas throughout the season!

This is my favorite gift guide to make because it's everything *I* want. These are my favorite things that I own — or items at the top of my wish list. Use this as a guide for what to get your sister or your best friend. Feel free to also send this to your partner as a not-subtle hint ;)

Lucky Brand Barn Jacket | $134

This is the jacket of the season. I bought two this year. The woman in your life definitely wants one. Or two.

Fossil Harlow Leather Watch | $150

In the age of the Apple Watch, it's very dainty and sophisticated to think of wearing an analog watch. It's timeless. It's the definition of it girl.

Western Icon Bag Charm | $36

I don't know when — but our purses are wearing jewelry these days. Bag charms are very in right now. This horse/horseshoe/equestrian-themed combo has my heart. I have at least three bags I would clip this onto immediately.

Everlane Alpaca Crew | $118

This was my favorite sweater last year. I wore it on repeat all winter. Last year, I had it in black — this year, I want the gray. And camel?

The Official Taylor Swift Eras Tour Book | $39

If you haven't pre-ordered this yet, what are you even doing? We were there. It was rare...

Red Scallop-Edge Scarf | $58

I love mixing a bright red with a neutral. She'll feel so pretty and festive in this scalloped scarf. Gift this with a lipstick of the same color ;)

Favorite Daughter Baseball Cap | $40

I have four sisters, so I think this hat is especially funny :) Gift this to the daddy's girl in your life and watch her wear it unapologetically.

Phlur Vanilla Skin Perfume | $99

This scent went viral for a reason. It's *richer* and spicier than straight-up vanilla. Also, it smells good on everyone. I *promise* you she's heard of this — and wants it.

Sorrel Toile Robe | $79

The lady in your life needs a new robe, and this one is the prettiest :) This is on my wish list this year, and I can't wait to wear it on Christmas morning and pretend I'm Diane Keaton in "The Family Stone."

Made by Mary Silver Gloss Ring | $66

Why is silver my favorite now, instead of gold? Anyway, this ring is a classic statement piece that would look good on any girl/any finger (so don't worry too much about the size).

This is just 10 of many more! Shop The Full Gift Guide | Return to the Top

People think that guys are hard to shop for (and maybe yours is!). I think guys are so transparent. They need something cool and cozy to wear, a gadget, something that cooks meat, and a self-care item that they would never buy themselves. I curated 50 picks for our "Gift Guide for Him" this year, and these are my top 10. You can thank me later :)

Abercrombie Baggy Open-Hem Sweatpant | $70

Guys need a fresh pair of sweatpants to lounge around in during their Christmas break. I love that these are thick and cozy and don't get tight at the ankles. They'll stay on the stop of the laundry pile for months to come. I'm loving the classic colors and vintage style!

Indoor Pellet Smart Electric Smoker | $697

We got this smoker this year, and it's nothing short of a miracle-worker. We smoked turkey legs (Disney-style) and were shocked that the house wasn't filled with smoke — despite all the flavor! This guy was designed to smoke indoors — even if you have an apartment! The man in your life will fire this up on the first DAY.

Golf + GPS Speaker | $179

Shh... I got this for Chris! This is so he can track and measure his driving distance off the tee, allowing him to improve his game over time. Plus, it'll make all of his golf buddies jealous :)

Nike Blazer Low Pro Club BTS Shoes | $100

A low-profile casual sneaker can take him from weekday to weekends, and this Nike leather shoe is the sleekest one I’ve seen. Who's that guy with the cool shoes?! (He's yours.)

Dog Father Embroidered Sweatshirt | $60

For all the dog dads out there with pups that look up to them, this sweatshirt celebrates their bond with a not-so-subtle nod to The Godfather, the movie every guy quotes constantly. Cricket melts into a puddle when she sees Chris. Our dog is different with him than she is with any of us. So, naturally, he needs this.

Leather Mules | $150

Chris specially asked for a slip on leather slipper with nothing too fuzzy inside...and I immediately went on the hunt and found these. Get rid of his ratty old slippers, and replace with these. They're indoor/outdoor, so if he insists on wearing them to the movies — no big.

Hybrid Electric Razor and Beard Trimmer | $39

With over 41,000 reviews, this hybrid electric beard razor and trimmer has a massive fan following—including Chris. It cuts so smoothly that the only nick he’ll see this holiday season is St. Nick.

Pine Car Freshener | $11

Guys love their cars smelling good. Two years ago, I got Chris hooked off Drift--a clip on visor scent for his car. (And now I want one!) This hangs on his car visor and comes as a subscription. It's sleek and sophisticated and not overpowering. Best of all — they have the best subtle scents that don't smell like a gas station air freshener. Paired with a car wash punch pass and you'll win the stocking game.

Foot Massager with Heat | $109

His dogs are barking! Tell your guy to kick his feet up, and enjoy a warm massage. I may have to borrow this one...

Men's Shower Wrap | $43

This is for the guy who doesn't wear a robe, but also doesn't know what he's wearing yet. After-showering puttering is just a little more modest with this wrap :)

Shop The Full Gift Guide | Return to the Top

Polly and Faye helped me curate this list, putting in things that they loved and taking other products out that they deemed unworthy. We have high standards for kids' gifts over here! I think you'll find something for every age, from babies to big kids. These are the 10 that feel extra-special to me, and I know I'll be gifting these to some of our nieces and nephews this Christmas, too.

Monsieur Croissant Plush Toy | $20

This French-inspired pastry is too fun, mais oui? It's so unexpected and adorable. It's always a game for me to find a stuffie for Christmas that the girls have never seen before. When I saw this one, I knew it was traveling home with me.

Mailbox Activity Set | $24

Polly likes to play make-believe (I got her a diner costume set last year), and I snuck this one on the list because I know she'll love writing letters all year long.

Green Digital Camera | $39

Such a great price point on a digital point-and-shoot camera for their photo collection. For the kid that can't wait to see the picture. It comes in three other colors that are so retro cool. Plus it has a zoom feature!

Blue & White Canopy | $178

When she was little, Faye used to have a canopy in her bedroom. This one is so cute, it almost looks like an heirloom piece in the making. Perfect for a reading nook or over a bed.

Small Ivory Trampoline | $111

For the kid who has endless energy, this little trampoline is the perfect gift for long winters inside and it's easy on the eyes, too. You'll love that they're not bouncing off the walls—at least temporarily. ;)

Chris Loves Julia Dollhouse | $299

I dreamed up my ideal dollhouse that I would want to have had as a child, and this is it. We designed this piece with Pottery Barn Kids, and it's just the sweetest dollhouse with wallpaper and arched windows. It comes with some furniture too!

Nonslip Stepping Stones | $34

Every kid loves to jump on stones, whether they're real or not! These colorful stepping stones can provide so much entertainment.

Toss and Catch Ball Set | $21

Classic catch, minus the hard balls and real mitts. I love that this can be done indoors safely!

Colorful Magic Foam Clay | $11

The new kid on the gifting block is craft modeling clay (move over Play-Doh!) Their colorful creations can be air-dried and displayed like the treasures they are.

Razor Crazy Cart Shift | $217

If you really want to see their eyes go wide this Christmas, get them one of these electric drifting go-karts. I got these for the girls a few years back, and they still whip around the cul-de-sac.

Shop The Full Gift Guide | Return to the Top

I think teens and tweens get a bad rap for being picky, but really, they just want people to see them for who they are! These gifts tap into the sub-culture they're so fiercely ingrained into. Your teen will be so surprised (and impressed) that you "get it", they may brag about you to their friends.

Pokémon Squishmallow Plush Toy | $24

Whose teen isn't slightly obsessed with Squishmallows? Greta has about 20 that line her dresser. I don't get it, but this combines two of the most on-trend gifts right now. The Snorlax is one of the cutest Pokémon characters.

Bow Charm Necklace | $10

Bows are everywhere! And they'll feel extra special receiving jewelry. The realistic ribbon effect in this one makes it look a lot more expensive than it is!

White Hooded Puffer | $54

The it puffer coat (Greta requested white). The cropped look is so in, and the price is great. Plus it's machine washable so they can keep this looking fresh for when they meet up with friends!

Mini Sticker Printer | $29

This little inkless printer is compatible with Android and iPhones for the most fun custom stickers. It comes with 3 rolls, so your tween or teen can print photos, pictures, study notes, journal decorations, and more. Why didn't they have this when I was younger?!

Echo Spot | $79

Amazon's version of The Hatch and I kind of love it even more? The newest Amazon Echo Spot has a fun *whisper* mode so your pre-teen or teen doesn't have to wake up the whole house at all hours. And there's a subtle wake-up mode to give them the best start to the day. (Any help we can get, right??)

Glitter Freckles Face Tattoo | $7

After Taylor Swift sported these at a Chiefs game, these glitter freckles have been the hottest new thing. It's the perfect stocking stuffer for anyone going to The Eras Tour—or any other concert...or Tuesday at high school.

Crocs Classic Cozzzy Slipper | $49

I put these on the tween and teen gift guide, but I really want these for myself. When we can combine a shoe/slipper in one, my kids are thrilled. The mushroom color is so classic.

Laneige Midnight Minis Lip Set | $21

This hydrating lip mask is perfect before bed—I use them myself! I'll be adding these to the girls' stockings, because they come in so many fun flavors.

Owala Sandy Shores Water Bottle | $46

The Owala water bottles have a fierce following for a good reason. This is Chris's favorite brand because it has both the straw and sip/pour function at the same time. It's great that it seals too, so your teen can take them to all of their sporting events or camps.

LED Strip Lights | $13

We added these under Faye's bed and now Greta is begging for some under hers too. They're so easy to install (and the price is too good!) The remote control can sync to music and will change color to the sound of rhythm of sound. It's their very own light show!

Shop The Full Gift Guide | Return to the Top

Your parents and in-laws are getting increasingly difficult to shop for. Is that because they have everything? Or because they *keep* everything? Upgrade the grandparents this year with the gift they didn't even know they needed — and continue your reign as their favorite. :)

Our Place Dream Cooker | $175

Like an Instant Pot, but prettier. This jack-of-all-trades can prepare grains perfectly, cook meltingly delicious meat, or make up the ever-popular bone broths. They'll want to leave it out on the counter, it's that pretty—and useful!

Sicily Ceramic Oval Platter | $99

Classic and a generous size for serving a crowd. I can imagine my mom pulling this out for every family dinner.

Rotating Puzzle Board | $79

Every puzzle lover needs one of these. Pack away and store your puzzle when you're not working on it and as a bonus, this one rotates so you can work on different sections easily!

L.L. Bean Waterfowl Sweater Vest | $99

This sweater vest caught my eye with it's classic ribbed look and beautiful mushroom color. It's just the right amount of outdoor-meets-upscale. They'll be cozy all winter long!

Touch Screen Cashmere Lined Leather Gloves | $44

Pulling gloves on and off to use your phone is a thing of the past. These beauties would be my sidekick during all the chilly months (your parents will thank you!).

Neil Diamond Vinyl Record | $37

This album is one of our favorites to play on our record player (in the upstairs landing so the whole house can hear!). Neil is beloved by all generations in our family!

Echo Show 10 | $249

This device has a smart hub to keep them organized and lets them video call grandkids completely hands-free! And it's so easy to set up, they will be asking Alexa to play their favorite song in no time.

Luxury Towel Warmer | $170

It's giving luxury spa but at an attainable price. Plus it's so sleek, it'll go with any bathroom design. How great would this be on those chilly mornings??

Made In 8 Inch Chef Knife | $159

This is Chris's go-to everyday knife and a great addition to any kitchen. The wood handle is just that extra touch that makes this knife stand out. Not to mention, they desperately need a single sharpened knife in their house. These are forged in France by a 5th generation bladesmith—so they can impress all of their friends.

Custom House Drawing | $65

I love the idea of having one of these for every house I've lived in. We have one of the cabin that gives me warm fuzzies every time I see it.

Shop The Full Gift Guide | Return to the Top

What do you get the person who has everything? I picked out my favorite gifts that will surprise them with how unusual—and functional—they are! It's all about something finding a gift that's unique, personalized, or useful in some way.

Leather AirTag Wallet | $85

A new wallet with a guarantee that they'll never lose it. It's so sophisticated and sleek (that full-grain Italian leather!).

Monogrammed Bow Napkin Ring | $25

Can you imagine a holiday table set with these? The monogram detail just makes it that much more special. This is something someone might not buy for themselves, but would treasure always.

Varsity Patch Embroidered Scarf | $98

I haven't been much of a scarf girlie in the past but I want to change that this winter. The little charms on this one give such a cute, collected vibe. And I love a varsity stripe!

Portable Photo Printer | $99

Pair this instant printer with a pretty glass box to keep all of their pictures in. I keep mine on the coffee table and love looking through the pictures while curled up on the couch.

CLJ x Lola Blankets in Corduroy | $299

They might have everything but do they have the softest blanket ever? This color goes with just about everything and the subtle stripe makes this look even more luxurious.

The Dress Code Lipstick Set | $58

A trio of my favorite matte lipstick is the gift I want in my stocking this year. Merit is a favorite around here for its wear-anywhere colors and clean ingredients.

Bogg Tote Bag | $90

I bought this for the beach this summer and will never use anything else. This carry-all holds its shape, and the sand just rinses right off. Comes in a ton of colors.

"Our Christmas Story" Memory Book | $29

Our family loves getting this out year after year to look back on past Christmases and fill out new traditions we've started. It's a great gift that will be unexpected, and pulled out year after year.

Weighted Neck & Shoulder Heating Pad | $66

Who wouldn't want to melt the tension away at the end of the day with one of these? I know a dozen people who would be thrilled to find this under the tree.

Ultrasonic Jewelry Cleaner | $39

Deep cleans jewelry with a touch of a button so your accessories stay bright and shiny. They'll wonder how they ever went without!

Shop The Full Gift Guide | Return to the Top

What does a homebody want for Christmas? As a self-professed homebody myself, I feel qualified to answer this! A candle and accessories, an engaging activity to keep their attention — like a game or coloring book, cozy shoes, beautiful decor, and something fun to drink. These gifts will have the friend with JOMO (the joy of missing out) feeling cozy and content.

Holiday Smells Candle | $48

I bought this for the smell but am keeping it for the cut-outs on the jar that light up when the candle is lit. The brass jar is SO luxe.

Fuzzy Hygge Coloring Book | $7

Every homebody needs a good coloring book and I like that this one isn't advanced with a ton of small sections that can be overwhelming. Pair it with a nice set of colored pencils and fuzzy socks, and they're all set for a cozy night in.

GE Profile Opal Nugget Ice Maker | $349

Who knew a nugget ice maker could be both functional and beautiful? Every drink is more fun with pebble ice. So happy it now comes in white! Would be a great addition to any countertop.

Custom Home Portrait Ornament | $130

A great gift for a new homeowner but I know any home lover would be thrilled to hang this on the tree year after year.

Bobbin Photo Frame | $31

Tabletop frames are better than ever right now and I want to add one to every surface. Add a picture of their loved ones and you won't find a sweeter gift under the tree. The dark wood frame is classic and modern at the same time.

Chunky Suede Birkenstocks | $150

The platform version of my favorite Boston Birkenstocks. It doesn't get more on-trend than brown suede either. I wear Birkenstocks around the house all the time.

Decorative Coffee Table Book Set | $57

These are actually linen boxes... perfect for hiding the remote, or anything else you need handy but don't want sitting out. Tuck in a little fun note for an extra-special surprise.

Letter Writing Set | $40

Everyone needs a good set of stationery imo. It doesn't get prettier than this one from Rifle Paper Co.! The green has my heart.

Labrador Bookends | $79

These stopped me in my tracks. Can you imagine these on a bookshelf?! These pups are so distinguished—they'll smile every time they see them.

Candle Warmer Lamp | $28

I bought this last year and my favorite thing about it is how long my candles last while using it! Not to mention, the ambiance it adds to a room is unmatched. Lamp-o-clock and candle-o-clock together, at last.

Shop The Full Gift Guide | Return to the Top

You've already received the invite—it's the Christmas party thrown by your friend who throws the *best* parties. And this year, you're going to show up with the *best* gift. These 10 gifts are so special and useful, they'll wonder how they ever went without.

Ninja SLUSHi | $299

We made butterbeer in this the first time we used it and were immediately transported back to Harry Potter World. The next time, we put apple cider in it for 30 minutes and served it over ice cream! Unlike the Ninja CREAMi, you don’t need to freeze anything overnight and it holds nearly a gallon! It’s really fast, and really easy to clean. It's coming out at all of our parties from now on!

Wooden Bread Bow | $85

This is just the most elegant tool I’ve ever seen for cutting bread. And I’ll bet even the “hostess with the mostess” doesn’t have this ;)

Playing Card Set | $30

We keep a set of pretty playing cards by the dining table for that after-dinner time when the conversation is still rolling, and no one is ready to get up from the table. These make an excellent gift for the host who knows how to make that entertaining transition from dinner… to a short game… to dessert.

Bluetooth Record Player | $239

A record player adds instant nostalgia to a croony evening in. Gift this to your favorite host with a Bing Crosby Christmas vinyl. (And don’t stress because it has a Bluetooth, too — for all of the Spotify playlists they’re famous for.)

Olive Oil Cruet | $48

I ordered this in October, and I just love to look of it in our range nook. I immediately bought a second one and wrapped it up for a hostess gift. I mean, talk about elevating the everyday…

Classic Yatzy Game | $29

We played this a lot when I was a kid — some heated games, and I can’t wait to gift this to one (or two) of my sisters. But it’s also a great gift for a host because it’s one of those nostalgic games everyone has played before, and there won’t be a lot of explaining rules.

Marble Dessert Stand with Domed Lid | $39

Go to Whole Foods, and get the Berry Chantilly Lace cake. Put it under this dome. You’ll be the hit of the party, and your host will be all dazzle-eyed about getting to keep such a pretty stand.

Recipe Journal | $27

Chris jots down all of his recipes in a notebook in our kitchen, and he goes back in and makes additional notes when he cooks those recipes. This book is a future heirloom for your favorite host’s family.

KitchenAid Design Series Mixer | $699

Hubba hubba. I actually drool over this mixer. It's a work of art as much as it is the greatest kitchen work horse.

Pinch of Salt Kitchen Candle | $49

This is a great kitchen candle because it’s subtle and doesn’t compete with the aromas of delicious food cooking. Your favorite host will love it (and keep it stocked year-round).

Shop the Full Gift Guide | Return to the Top

We all know the one — the friend who has all the latest gear for the gym or knows the best running routes. Or maybe your husband or boyfriend told you he's committed to turning up the volume on his health next year. Here are the gifts that will get their heart pumping and their athletic game upgraded.

"Just Do It" Embroidered Cap | $48

I’m really into caps this year, and they great thing about them is you can't have too many. They make GREAT gifts. Who doesn’t need one of these for walking/running or a post-gym hair cover-up! This classic slogan will help those early risers (like me!) getting out of bed in the morning.

Oura Ring | $449

I got this as my birthday gift last year, and it has been the gift that keeps on giving. It helps track so many analytics, from how good my sleep is to my biometrics. I never take it off.

New Balance 9060 Sneakers | $150

Did you know you’re supposed to replace your running shoes every 6 months? That makes December the perfect time to get your fitness pal on the right track for the new year. I already have 2 colorways of this sneaker, but I'm eyeing this one so hard. These feel so '90s in the best way.

Insulated Running Gloves | $58

When I take Cricket on walks in the winter, I need to keep my hands warm. These gloves are the perfect thing for someone who loves to take their exercise game outside.

Ninja CREAMi | $149

If your favorite athlete doesn’t have the viral Ninja CREAMi, you will make their day with this appliance wrapped under the tree. It’s surprisingly great for protein-rich "ice creams"—you can make incredibly nutritious treats with just a few ingredients!

Straight Leg Sweatpant | $128

There’s nothing more satisfying than changing into your lounge clothes after you’ve finished an extra-challenging workout session. This will keep them warm and cozy during their cool-down.

Weighted Vest | $28

It’s important to add strength training to your workout routine, and this weight vest adds some gentle, but powerful pressure to their morning or evening walks. I love the spot for the phone as well! And for under $30, it’s an easy add-to-cart.

Ankle Weights | $55

These Bala Bangles have over 1,600 5-star reviews, and they’re so versatile! Your gym buddy can use them for yoga, pilates, boxing, home workouts, and walks. They come in 3 weight options and 5 colors—this sea blue is so calming.

Milk Frother | $7

If there’s a better gift under $10 out there, I don’t know what it is! This little battery-powered frother is great for mix-ins, vitamins, protein blends—and even the celebratory matcha latte. I always have one of these on hand.

64oz Flip Straw Jug | $55

This Stanley water bottle has been my sidekick every morning at the gym. You can’t beat the 64-oz capacity! I love the flip straw for workouts and the top handle because it’s more clean and secure. Plus, it stays icy cold for hours when you need the ultimate refreshment.

Shop The Full Gift Guide | Return to the Top

We spent so much time with our work family... so why are they so hard to shop for?! I get it — You don't want anything too personal... or too expensive... or too INexpensive. I've rounded up some perfectly neutral, perfectly thrilling gifts to bestow upon the 9-to-5ers in your life.

12 Days of Hot Sauce Advent Calendar | $55

This is for the office gourmand who's always packing the most delicious lunches — and doctoring up whatever you guys order in. Little drawer-sized hot sauces for the win!

Olive Oil Duo | $74

This is Chris's favorite olive oil because it's delicious for cooking, but it's also the perfect olive oil for salads or dipping sauces or even drizzled over ice cream. It's fancy olive oil. And it makes a great gift.

Dodecagon Timer | $24

Set a timer! I love this one because there are 11 different time options, so you can make a list, set a timer, and knock it out.

Dumpling Stress Ball | $7

This is for the person in your office who keeps it cool on client calls. Who needs to grit their teeth when there's a dumpling stress ball? :)

Work Bestie Custom Candle | $14

You know exactly who you're getting this for — and it's the same person who sends you all of those work memes. She gets it, and work wouldn't be nearly as enjoyable without her.

Charm Keychain | $8

Put this in a little gift box with a bow. It'll be darling on your coworker's keys or purse.

Weighted Eye Blanket | $34

Sleep is precious! This is a luxurious gift for your coworker in need of some downtime. It's one of those things people wouldn't get themselves, but it's what they'll be gushing about around the water cooler.

"My Dog is My Child" Embroidered Cap | $30

Every office has a proud dog mom (or dad). The green color is just-right for their weekend excursions, too.

Insulated Travel Mug | $28

For the office coffee drinker — upgrade their Starbucks cup for this insulated mug that will keep their brew hot all throughout the morning meeting.

Monogram Leather Coasters | $49

This would look great in the boss's office — especially with a bottle of their favorite drink.

  1. Would you do a series of large dried flower arrangements - say for a window or a side table? I have a beautiful large pottery urn that is filled with dried flowers from about 10 years ago. I would say the arrangements from the table to the top i about 3.5 feet. I would love to see this! thanks!

  2. Wow Julia! Thank you SO much for all of the thought and effort you put into finding these fabulous gifts!! I'm purchasing many of them for friends and family (and for myself if truth be told!) knowing they will be thrilled with the choice! What an incredible list for which I, and no doubt many others, am grateful!

  3. I know you moved to North Carolina for your health. How does NC help your health. I was in Moorseville, NC last week . I check my oxygen level every day. I was surprised to see see it was 5 points higher there instead Utah.

  4. Hi. Appreciate all the work you put into these but sad there is no narrative. That is what I typically find so helpful. Maybe you’ll add some in since you are so early!! Thank you.

    1. Agreed. These used to be my favorite because there was so much thought put into them. Now they look like every other gift guide out there.

My Storage Hack for Organizing Christmas Decorations

Every year when I pack up the decorations after Christmas, I collect all of the garlands together in one box, I get all the candlesticks together in another box, and all my nativity sets go into their own box. We label the boxes "garlands," "candles," "nativity sets,"...which seems great until you remember that you have […]

Cranberry-Glazed Ham

What do you make for Christmas dinner? Sometimes we'll do a prime rib or a roast turkey, but this year, I'm going all out with a Christmas ham that just looks festive. For this recipe, I made a cranberry-orange glaze with some warm winter spices that takes this ham to the next level. Oh and […]
