Holiday Gift Guide For Parents & In-Laws 2022

November 2, 2022

Whether you're gifting for your parents or your partner's parents, you're in the right place. There's something on this list for the gardening type, the traveling type, the homemaker, and even the practical type. And although this list is more tailored towards the empty-nesters, I guarantee you'll spot something for others on your list, too. Happy gifting!

I recently tried out the smaller 30oz Stanley cup, and it's the perfect size and weight! The newer 2.0 version is even better with a soft grip handle and no spill straw spout. The perfect gift for any parent that maybe doesn't want to carry the heavier 40 oz around.

Nothing says Happy Holidays quite like this whimsical snowflake crewneck sweater. I bought this to wear for our holiday cards this year and would totally buy one for my mom to twin in!

Odds are, you have a parent in your life with a green thumb whose knees "don't quite move like they used to." This is the perfect, practical solution to make their life a bit more comfortable.

Few gifts feel more thoughtful than personalized gifts! I think these custom doormats are so classy, and they get 10 points for coming in larger sizes! We got this for our in-laws a couple years ago and it has held up incredibly well!

If your parents are still brushing their teeth "the old-fashioned way," do them a favor and get them a Sonicare! These are our very favorite toothbrushes. It has 3 different brushing modes, the charge lasts up to 14 days, and it comes with a travel case!

This annual pass will get you into any and all National Parks and Federal Recreational Lands, and I just know my Dad would geek out about this and tell all of his friends.

7. Ninja CREAMi $177

We are still obsessed with our Ninja CREAMi. It whips up the tastiest frozen treats with the simplest ingredients you already have at home. It's the kitchen appliance your parents don't even know they need and they'll want to bust it out every Sunday for DIY ice cream in minutes!

8. Ring Doorbell $65

Is it just me, or has every adult taken it upon themselves to help our older parents when it comes to technology? A ring doorbell is one of those devices that might not even be on their radar, but it could give them that extra peace of mind–an invaluable gift.

Chris is picky when it comes to his knives and was skeptical even to try Material, but they have become his favorite. It's likely your parents are still using the same knife set they had around when you were a kid. Time for an upgrade!

10. AeroGarden $130

This countertop hydroponic herb garden is so genius and pretty impossible to screw up. It tells you when to add more water and plant food, and the lights shut on and off automatically. I can't think of a better gift than fresh year-round herbs.

11. Leather Gloves $26

These leather driving gloves are lined with cashmere, and I can't think of anything cozier for my hands in the dead of winter. They're even touchscreen approved!

Half Baked Harvest is all the rage, and this cookbook is jam-packed with drool-worthy recipes and beautiful food imagery. Have heard great things about the Lemon Rosemary Garlic Chicken is to die for.

I have yet to see a more stunning ovenware set. Our favorite thing to do is use the pan as a griddle atop the range. They're made with a non-stick, non-toxic ceramic coating and are pretty enough to serve with. This oatmeal set is so creamy, but there are 5 other beautiful colorways. Chris uses something from this set EVERY DAY!

14. Table Topics $25

These multi-generational table topic cards are meant to get the conversation rolling around the dinner table. Things like, "who taught you how to ride a bike?" and "what's the best thing about your age right now?" It's creates a really sweet and thoughtful discussion that I'm taking notes over.

A really classy beautiful throw blanket is always well received! Add a monogram and you're suddenly the favorite (again). This comes in 12 different colors and plaid variations, with optional embroidered personalization!

You cannot go wrong with gifting a classy pair of corduroy slippers for the Holidays. This olive green pair would be perfect for your father or father-in-law.

My Storage Hack for Organizing Christmas Decorations

Every year when I pack up the decorations after Christmas, I collect all of the garlands together in one box, I get all the candlesticks together in another box, and all my nativity sets go into their own box. We label the boxes "garlands," "candles," "nativity sets,"...which seems great until you remember that you have […]

Cranberry-Glazed Ham

What do you make for Christmas dinner? Sometimes we'll do a prime rib or a roast turkey, but this year, I'm going all out with a Christmas ham that just looks festive. For this recipe, I made a cranberry-orange glaze with some warm winter spices that takes this ham to the next level. Oh and […]
