Here's where we left off yesterday:
Down these stairs, is another 1700 square feet, and a cute little girl.
To the left, there are four doorways, three bedrooms and a bathroom.
The room to the immediate left will be the guest room. It doesn't share a wall with all other room and the closet has a nice little pull-down desk in the closet which could be a cool feature for our friends? Yes.
The bathroom is currently a 3/4 bath, meaning it has a shower but no tub--which isn't ideal. Greta likes showers, but still prefers a bath--or switching between the two. Fortunately (I guess?) the bathroom has the most peculiar layout and more than enough room for a bath, so we will be nearly gutting this bathroom and adding one in here.
Here's a look behind the bathroom door, where there is another vanity!?
Here's another bedroom. We have no immediate plans for this room, although the massive amount of storage in the closet would make for a good studio. :)
And this one will be Greta's. It's the largest and gets the most light and has a sweet little closet, too.
A small hallway leads to the family room:
A large, slightly awkward family room.
I will say, Chris is pushing for a projector down here and just seeing him light up while talking about it, almost has me convinced.
Through the family room there is a large storage room that sealed the entire deal for me.
And back up the stairs...
We are back at the beginning.
I am going to try to do a video tour sometime next week so you can visualize the flow a little better. Have a happy weekend! We'll be finalizing flooring, fencing and initial paint colors and soaking in our last few days before the sweating starts. You?
Do you like the stuck mirrors or are you going to try to un-stick them? I'm so excited to see your renovations in this house! It is huge and has great potential! Good luck :)
Love the layout! I'm getting excited for the changes you'll be making!! Congrats again. :)
Oh my word. We could fit 6 or 7 of our former condos in this house! Ha, so much space and potential! Although I must admit, looking at all these photos, all I can think is... wow, everything is so clean and new looking! :)
OMG - that storage is immense. You can become one of those crazy coupon people I secretly envy from my non coupon UK world!!!
I can't believe that you're comfortable having your daughter sleep on a different level than you.
Well, originally we were going to make her sleep in the garage, but the winters can get pretty cold in Idaho. I mean, we're not cruel.
Just throw some bottles of water and boxes of cereal down the stairs. How else will Generation Z learn independence?
Haha!!
So much space! What an amazing storage room! I can't wait to see what you guys do with it!
I can't believe how quickly the whole selling/buying phase is going. Looks like this new house has so much room and potential. I'm looking forward to seeing what you do to make it yours!
It has been a complete miracle. I hope to have a whole post about it next week.
Our master bathroom actually has an extra vanity (no sink) just outside the bathroom and no bathtub, just a shower. I haven't taken an actual bath since I was a kid (hey! I shower, people!), so having just a shower is actually great for us. Bathtubs are so much harder to clean. But with a kiddo, I can definitely see why you'd want a tub. Looks like you guys have a ton of space. You'll never outgrow that house!
Never. Hahaha. We hope to stay here a good, long time.
That's awesome! So much space! And I love that the closets have so much storage and organization in them already.
I know. I know!!! I was so sad to leave Greta's custom closet, but all of the bedrooms have pretty great closets already. Score!
You sound confused about the extra vanity outside the bedroom, but that is awesome! When my younger sister and I were teenagers, we shared the hall bathroom that was also used by the guest bedroom. The bathroom had a separate vanity outside, with another sink as well. It was so awesome to be able to get ready in the morning without having to worry about someone hogging the bathroom shower/toilet. It also gave us lots of space to get ready without knocking each other in the head!

Both of the vanities are actually in the bathroom, one is just behind the door. Growing up with five sisters, I totally get how it would be awesome, but for us, I think a tub downstairs might be even more awesome. :)
Ok it's totally weird that there's two vanities in the bathroom. Tub totally makes more sense! :)
Jennifer
I had no clue the downstairs would have so many windows and be so bright! (I also live in Florida so I don't really understand ramblers/basements/etc lol).
So much space and so much potential! :)
Haha, yes, they are pretty big out here.
