Ikea "as is" Giveaway!

January 15, 2011

It's no secret that we are obsessed with Ikea.  But what may be a secret to some is their "as is" section after the showroom...and the market place...and the warehouse--in the front corner of the store.  We visit this section OFTEN and always walk away with a steal and a half.  After all, we can't pass up a handmade basket with a lid for 50% off just because it was a display model, right!?  So--we're passing it on to you.  We are going to work together on this once a month, okay?  We get to keep making trips to Ikea and finding these gems and you get to win them.  Do you love it?  You love it.

This month, feast your eyes on the very handmade basket we just talked about:

diameter 5 in; height 6 in
This would look amazing on a shelf above your bed, on a mantle, a desk, a countertop; mix it in to your centerpiece, set it atop a stack of magazines on your bookcase....this is truly a gem and we want someone to love it as much as we do.
So, lets get down to the 411 on winning this little pretty:
  • To enter:  Leave a comment on this post about something you would stash away in this basket.  (Get creative, we love a good laugh!)
  • Giveaway closes:  Thursday, January 20th at 9 pm MST
  • The winner will be selected using random.org and announced on Friday. Good luck!

Only one entry per person.  Prize only ships to 48 contiguous states.  (We still love you Alaska and Hawaii).

THIS GIVEAWAY IS NOW CLOSED,
BUT KEEP CHECKING BACK FOR OUR NEXT ONE.

  37. SO cute and SO generous of you! love it! i think it would be super cute in the mix of a centerpiece on our large wooden dinner table, the colors would mesh oh-so-gorgeously! no doubt, i would most likely find it stuffed with used tissues, pieces of dried food, or toy cars... responsible party would be my little 3 yr old bundle of mischief!!! :) thanks for the opportunity!

  38. Yeah, I'm a mom and wife. I can never, ever find scissors or tape in the drawer where I put them. I swear, in the past three months, I've bought FOUR pairs of scissors and THREE 3-pks of scotch tape. No one in the house has even seen them (uh-huh!) I'd hide my very own, personal pair of scissors and as many rolls of tape as possible in that little basket. Then I'd put some tampons on top (I have two sons and a hubby - that ought to scare them off!)

    ohmiss14 at yahoo dot com

  39. I would also stash the remotes in this cute basket, but not so I could find them but to keep little sticky hands off them! OOOORRR I'd put it in the bathroom and store extra toilet paper, if it's big enough. Love this basket!!

  40. I'm not sure what I'd put in it, but I'm pretty sure it would look pretty PERFECT on my fantastic Ikea bookcase that ALSO came from the as-is section of Ikea. I LOVE the as-is section too and have LOTS of awesome stuff from there!

  41. Ohhh I have lots of ideas. I would use it in my craft room... but I'd be afraid it would get messed up. I'm wondering if I could fit my glasses in there... I'd put it on my desk for sure though so I could admire it all day!!!

  42. I would put all the off-colored lipglosses and foundation I collected from 2010, and can't seem to let go of because I continue to think "No I'll get tan and healthy peach gloss will look good"

  43. I would put my sons crayons and other small toy in it! Great for the living room to hide all the toys, so it can still feel like an adult home!

  44. Jules you are so cute, look at you! I think that I might have to use it for my pet cobra, not a lot of people know that I am a snake charmer, one of my many talents~

  45. I'd love to put this in my living room next to some random bottles for decor. I'd then stash in it the figurine {that isn't my style} which we got for our wedding from a friend of my MIL, so I easily could pull it out to display when certain guests arrive ;)
