Once I woke up, Chris went and got Greta and brought her into our bed. She was so happy and kicking. Kick. Kick. Kick! That's how we know she is really loving her life--she kicks. Then Chris brought in a silver wrapped gift with pink ribbon. This, in itself, is a gift. Chris rarely wraps presents. It was beautiful. Inside was a new straightener. I have had mine for 5 years and I was definitely due for a new one. Perfect gift. Greta fell asleep in our bed and I escaped to the kitchen where Chris was making curried eggs with onions and mushrooms. He cut up some pears and strawberries. I sipped orange juice and fell in love with him all over again. Warm weather allowed us to walk to church. I love walking. We taught our Sunday School class outside. I watched Greta stretch out in the warm sun on a blanket. Kick. Kick. Kick. She loves being outside. I love being her mom. We walked home and had homemade pizza and salad for dinner. My favorite meal. Greta kicked water everywhere during her bath. She fell asleep. Chris and I snuggled and I had ice-cream with cookie dough. He told me he loved me and Happy Mother's day for the one-hundredth time and we fell asleep. It was a perfect day.
Sounds HEAVENLY! Your first Mother's Day! Wooo-wooo! Good job Chris (and Greta)!
You two are the best...it's like a fairytale reading about your life. :) Inspiring how you completely appreciate those little things.
Happy Mother's Day!!!! ISn't it the greatest? I love being with my Mom so I can learn how to be a better mom. It was a great day! The sun was perfect here in NC too! But unfortunately...we couldn't walk to church. If we walk, it would take easily allllL day. (driving 30 mins). Boo
