Every year, since Greta was born, I have given Chris a photo of his daughter(s) for father's day. He knows it's coming, yes, but he always tears up and brings it to work to hang on the walls in his office like the proud dad he is. Last year, was his first father's day as a father of two and I did a fun, little photoshoot of both girls. You may remember seeing a few of those pictures.
Faye was so tiny! This year, I took photos of him with each girl very casually, just using my iPhone while he was sitting in his chair after he got home from work. They are candid and full of personality and I cherish them!
I had them printed through Artifact Uprising in their signature print + wood cleat and I love how they turned out! The print is ultra thick and luxe and the beetle pine wood cleat is magnetic (so it's easy to slip the print in) and ready to hang. It feels a little masculine and absolutely gorgeous.
And the good news is, we've partnered with Artifact Uprising to giveaway one of their Signature Prints + Wood Cleats to one of you just in time for father's day! (Or keep it for yourself, we won't tell a soul.) You can enter below. If you are anxious and want to order some of their other prints or photo books (the most beautiful things!) right now, you can use the code AUCLJ10 for 10% off your entire order. Both the code and the giveaway end on June 11th.
So that's my go-to gift for Chris, in addition to filling the latest kitchen gear void he has found. Do you have a go-to father's day gift?
Those are lovely, i will do it for my house.Hope my baby love it :)
Really nice idea. I should apply for my house. I really love my chirdren. Can see them everyday on the wall and in my life.
I love those pictures! You have the best eye when it comes to cropping. What is your secret?
On Artifact Uprising's site, when you're customizing your print, you can move actually around the print in the designated space until you like the way it looks, so that definitely helps to visualize.
My go to is remembering things he says, "that would be cool" or "I would love that but the kids need this first..." and getting it for him. Sometimes it's a year after he says it but it's always a big ticket item that he is astounded I heard, noted and actually followed through with. So the only tradition outside of the kids making him breakfast is we get something he wouldn't get for himself and let him go fishing.
Those ARE the best gifts.
Those are beautiful! I love the masculine and clean feel of them. Great job. And those photos are adorable. Well done! :)
We're expecting our first little girl in Septemeber so I think it would be great to start this tradition! Such a great idea and a great way to keep up with a growing family through the years! Maybe I'll start this year with a photo of me and the baby girl as we are now!
