We're a couple weeks into 2024, and it's usually about now when the motivation to keep our New Year's resolutions begins to fizzle out. Did you know that there is something called National Quitter's Day? It's a different day every year (always within the 2nd or 3rd week of January) when most people quit their New Year's resolutions. But I'm determined to not let that be me! Especially with all of my health-related goals this year, like continuing my weight lifting, but also trying to get 10K every day.
Something that helps me stay motivated to keep moving, whether that's going to the gym or getting the house work done is having a couple pairs of my favorite tennis shoes to choose from. As soon as I strap on my shoes, I feel unstoppable (which is probably why you always see me in sneakers). My tennis shoe (sneakers? trainers?) choice varies on the type of work(out) I'm planning on doing, but I do have a few tried & true favorites (hello Hoka, New Balance, & Adidas) that I wear on constant rotation.

One thing I know for certain is I feel my most productive right when I get home from the gym, most likely because I'm still in my tennis shoes and ready for whatever the day might throw at me. Like most working mothers, I’m needing to max out productivity most every day. Tennis shoes are my lifeline. Whenever I wear my Adidas Ultraboost, it's reallllly easy to stay in my gym clothes for the rest of the day because not only am I comfortable, I'm more productive.

I'm a 5am gym girlie, and it makes the mornings so much easier when I stick to my favorites -- a Free People workout tank, Lululemon leggings, Stance socks, and Hoka running shoes. If I'm being honest, I've slowly donated most of my other workout clothes because I know exactly what I like at this point.

At the end of last year, I started a Sunday morning tradition of going on a long walk (usually about 5 miles) by myself or with Cricket (depending on how hot it is). It has quickly become something I really look forward to each week, and I will definitely be continuing the routine in 2024. My sister Andi actually got me this sweatshirt for my birthday because she knows how much I've been enjoying my walks. And though it might sound cliche, I find myself reaching for my hokas every single time because they literally feel like walking on a cloud (I'm not kidding).

If I had to pick one outfit to wear every day for the rest of my life, this might just be it. Comfy leggings, a cozy crewneck, and my new favorite tennis shoes. Honestly, I wouldn't be mad about it.

Also, who says tennis shoes are just for the gym? I like mixing an unexpected shoe with my outfits -- like these New Balance Cherry Blossom sneakers paired with a blazer -- feels like a good day at the office to me.
Here are a bunch of other favorites that will be sure to keep you motivated & productive as the weeks go on! (Note: I didn't include my Sambas --I have these white and these black!--because I don't wear them to workout, but I do wear them alllll the time.)
We couldn't leave the guys out, could we? Chris and I both love going to the gym daily, though we go at vastly different times (haven't quite convinced him to join the 5am club 🤪). So I had Chris weigh in on his favorite shoes to wear to the gym, and he did not disappoint! (He's tried a few different brands, but right now he's all in on #6 and he gets compliments EVERY. DAY. on them).
