My January Favorites

January 28, 2022

And just like that, January is nearing an end. This month we've seen our first snow fall in North Carolina, and it's melted away just as quickly. We're getting used to unexpected "snow days" and just taking in the crisp, cold air, always thinking of how much colder it is in Idaho. We've been focusing on our 2022 project list, starting in the study and it all seems to be coming together seamlessly! The wainscoting is in, and I'll share more about the painting and wallpaper process soon! In the kitchen we've been swooning over the appliance garage, with more updates to come! The pool is coming together more every day and we revealed how much it's costing us and how we're budgeting for it here. At the end of each month I always like to share some of my favorite products that got me through the month, and this January, it's a combination of tools I'm loving, organization solutions, and more! Take a look below! :).

My January Favorites

1. Bamboo Bins $30 Our pantry is now stocked with these baskets and I love how the contain but don't conceal completely what's in them! They hold our bags of rice, pasta, kids snacks, and they keep everything looking neat and tidy! I love the warm wood tone, too!

2. Rib-Knit Turtleneck $40 The turtleneck of my dreams. It's so cozy and I'm loving this fun pop of color in my wardrobe (got a small!).

3. Chunky Weighted Throw $199 Not every weighted blanket is as pretty as this one. We keep this throw on our Charly sofa in the bonus room, and someone is always curled up underneath it!

4. Play Nine $16 This is the game we're obsessed with at the moment. I make everybody play it when they come to our house and we have the best time. It's a must! (Our 11 year old beats us all the time).

5. Weighted Phone Charger $40 My phone charger hasn't fallen on the ground in 4 years thanks to this guy and I'm just extra appreciative. This weighted charger keeps the cord resting on the surface, even if there's no phone plugged in! Genius.

6. Water Bottle Holder $28 When our home was professionally organized, this is one of my favorite products they used! I would have never thought to store our water-bottles like this, but it has changed everything!

7. Electronic Candle Lighter $14 I get seriously excited every time I go to light a candle because using this electric lighter is so fun. It's completely flameless, and lights candles with just a little electric zap. So satisfying to use!

8. Brass Outlets $46 Wall Plates $59 These are the outlets and plate covers we have installed in the kitchen! Each come in a pack of 10 which was plenty for the kitchen and they're such a great price point!

9. Marble Accent Table $162 I purchased this to use as a side table in the study and it arrived so quickly! I'm shocked at how stunning it is in person.

10. Collared Sweatshirt $79 A sweatshirt with the cutest peter pan collar is the ultimate comfort/fashion hybrid and I'm here for it. (got a medium)

11. Super Wall Hooks $8  We've been hanging a lot of art lately so I made a reel about these Chris and I use them all the time to hang art. They don't require any tools or anchors and can hold so much weight!!

12. Lace ECO Sneaker $120 I got these Sorel sneakers this month and they are everything my feet need and want. Incredibly comfortable and supportive, plus cute. I love the cream and white and the shape!! (true to size)

13. Flatware $519 Chris and I gifted this stainless steel flatware set to ourselves for Christmas and I can't even describe how perfectly they feel in your hand. So ergonomic. The weight is just perfect! We've had a few friends over for dinner and already received compliments.

14. Fringe Stool $108 I've been waiting and waiting for the Studio McGee fringe stool to become available, so I finially ordered this dupe that was in stock to see how it compares!

15. Ziplock Bag Organizer $13 Another genius product the organizers used in our home that has simplified life.

16. Prose Shampoo $28 I've officially used this custom shampoo for over a year. My hair is healthier than it has ever been! I took a hair quiz that calculated my specific formula (recently updated for North Carolina humidity!) and they nailed it.

My Storage Hack for Organizing Christmas Decorations

Every year when I pack up the decorations after Christmas, I collect all of the garlands together in one box, I get all the candlesticks together in another box, and all my nativity sets go into their own box. We label the boxes "garlands," "candles," "nativity sets,"...which seems great until you remember that you have […]

Cranberry-Glazed Ham

What do you make for Christmas dinner? Sometimes we'll do a prime rib or a roast turkey, but this year, I'm going all out with a Christmas ham that just looks festive. For this recipe, I made a cranberry-orange glaze with some warm winter spices that takes this ham to the next level. Oh and […]
