Our girls are anxious and excited to start their new schools here in our new hometown. Our youngest, Polly, will start Pre-k (her first time going to school!) And Faye will go to second starting next week. Our oldest has a few more weeks until school starts. We have only heard incredible things about fall in North Carolina and I can already tell it's going to be magic. We've been buying all the school supplies and crossing things off our list, and let me tell you, we (me and the girls) got sucked into a world of adorable backpacks.
We love Walker Family Goods backpacks!
Is there nothing better than the feeling of a new backpack holding all those school supplies? We rounded up only the best for you, and there's something in here for everybody (I've got my eyes set on that fossil backpack and that price tag is drawing me in).
What are you most excited about with school starting back up again? I'm going to miss our summer days but I really thrive during the school-year routine. Anyways, shop away and enjoy those final summer days!

I have a Hershels backpack that is great! Well designed and great looking! Not sure it qualifies for your list, but I love it!
#16 is on amazon for around 20 less!
You completely missed LLBean, which we think are the absolute best backpacks. Comes with a 1 yr no questions asked guarantee (I don’t work for the company, just a lifelong fan).
Yes, I was surprised about that too - it's been a while since we bought one (my kids are all around 30 now) but I have boys and they were hard on backpacks but my middle son used the same one (his choice) from 6th grade through high school! The durability was amazing. To be honest, it looked pretty worn by the end of it's use but he persisted kind of as a joke - lol.
It would be helpful to have the store name as part of the links.
I highly recommend LL Bean backpacks for durability and variety of sizes to fit different height children and variety of pockets
Do people buy new backpacks every year or two?? I think of them more like any good bag - buy something of decent quality and use it for years. I still have my 15 year old Jansport leather bottom college backpack for trips :)
Amen, Julie! Use it up and wear it out!
My 42 year old husband still has and uses his LL Bean backpack from junior high! I would definitely go with quality, durability and a good warranty when it comes to backpacks.
That said, many people do buy them new every year. But I think that’s usually when you buy the cheap character ones at Walmart. We made that mistake the first year of school. Spider-Man was super cool, but he did not even make it through kindergarten. We replaced it with an LL Bean backpack which is still going strong 5 years later. Our son also takes good care of it bc we have told him that he will be buying the replacement backpack if he wrecks it.
Yup - my child knows that her bookbag is her bookbag until it breaks/falls apart.
Agreed! Our 5.5 year old twin boys have MEC backpacks (Mountain Equipment Coop here in Canada) and they look brand new after two years of preschool use. They were well worth the initial higher price tag.
Love this - after raising five children and now a “Gigi” I still love the double zipper feature in the main area - a spot for papers and one for lunch bag
