Plant-based and Dairy-based Protein Ice Creams for the Ninja CREAMi | Chris Cooks

June 25, 2023

Jules and I have been trying to increase our protein intake and hitting those macros can be tough, especially when you're craving treats nonstop. So I set out to make two low calorie, macro-counting-friendly desserts that can be whipped up in our favorite kitchen appliance, the Ninja CREAMi.

We've been using the CREAMi since it's very early days. In fact, I think they sent us ours before it was even released to the public. And after nearly weekly uses since that time, it still works like a champ and we've tried probably over 100 different dessert variations (such as these three).

Ninja Creami | Extra Containers | Ice Cream Bowls | Silver Spoons | Black Vase | Hand Towel (similar)

These two ice creams are definitely near the top of that list and we've made them a couple times since I came up with them. A great treat while watching a show before bed and won't bust your macros (if that's your thing). I also love the addition of the mix-ins - great addition of flavor and texture.

  1. These look amazing even though both those flavors would be way way way down my list of what I’d like to try…. Do you have other flavor recipes? Our ways to modify these?

My Storage Hack for Organizing Christmas Decorations

Every year when I pack up the decorations after Christmas, I collect all of the garlands together in one box, I get all the candlesticks together in another box, and all my nativity sets go into their own box. We label the boxes "garlands," "candles," "nativity sets,"...which seems great until you remember that you have […]

Cranberry-Glazed Ham

What do you make for Christmas dinner? Sometimes we'll do a prime rib or a roast turkey, but this year, I'm going all out with a Christmas ham that just looks festive. For this recipe, I made a cranberry-orange glaze with some warm winter spices that takes this ham to the next level. Oh and […]
