Reader's Choice: Curtain Call!

May 14, 2012
Today's poll will be the icing on the studio's cake.  In this crazy turn of events, we have allowed you readers to design my new art studio. You have voted on color scheme, ceiling color, area rug and lighting and now we turn our attention to curtains.  The old nursery-turned-studio has a large window on one wall that definitely needs some dressing:

I wasn't overly-excited about any of the curtain options I was finding.  I wanted something fresh and inspiring and then I came upon the tapestries at Urban Outfitters and I thought, "Those would make some pretty amazing curtains."  I know they won't be everyone's cup of tea, but the room is in dire need of a punch of pattern play and these huge tapestries will provide just that.  So, which is it going to be?:

1, 2, 3
You'll notice I have put the winning ceiling color, area rug and light fixture next to the choices for reference.  I think any of these tapestries-turned-curtains will go great in the studio and I can't wait to hear what you all think.  Vote now and feel free to play designer and weigh in below on why you chose what you did.
P.S.  Don't forget to cast your daily vote for our Exterior Melodrama.  It only takes 2 seconds to hit a "Love it" button.  We want this one, bad.

  1. While I love both #1 and #2 I have to go with #2. There is just something about it...maybe the darker colors for contrast. I don't know, but its calling my name and I am voting for it!
P.s. I am a little sad that the sphere light didn't win.

  2. i was initially all over #1...then i kept looking at them and decided #2 gave more options for other "stuff" and a little less crazy. you do have to work in there, after all.

  3. I'm with Meagan! I loooove #1! What a great idea to use a tapestry! I never would have thought. It's looking good!! ps. We are in the process of painting our bedroom Zinc!! I'm lovin it.

  4. Hmm. Not sure. The readers have voted on every element so far, but the room is about complete. But if I do come across anything else in the studio that takes some deciding--I'll definitely leave it up to a vote!

  5. Love #1 and #2 but I think #2 give you a little more color flexibility as you accessorize and as the room evolves. #1 seems to lock you into lots of red. But it sure is pretty.
