Remember That?! August

September 3, 2012

Looking back through August's post, Chris and I both agree--it was a great month. We balanced hard work and even got away for a night. Plus, starting a new project is always exciting. Before we jump into a new month with a fresh list of projects, we've rounded up all of August's right here for you with links back the original posts. Some, even I forgot about.

Remember when we...

Tackled the bottomless rock pit in our front yard:
Broke down how to achieve this look from Elle Decor:

Had a huge yard sale where we sold almost everything from our living room:

The living room got a fresh coat of dark, dark paint.  Mmmmm:

Chris went to great heights to install our new chandelier in the dining room:

Had a shrimp boil dinner party (and shared the recipe!):

Snagged a big jute rug for the living room on sale:

Transitioned Greta's crib into a toddler bed and lived to tell the tale:

Got a new slipcover for the couch, and then decided to send it back:

Designed a living room for my first bachelor client--but I would totally love this living room for myself, too:

Found this great little red Virco chair for Greta at the thrift store

Chris and I got away for a night and packed in a lot of fun.

Spilled about dirty kitchens and editing photos on Truth Tuesday:

Introduced smaller, more affordable flats to the gallery:

Gushed over little kids' rooms:

How was your August filled?  Hope everyone is enjoying their long labor day weekend.  We are, of course, packing it full!

  1. So fun to look through your old posts. You guys were busy!!!

September is already proving to be busy with school starting and baby preps in our apt. We have been rearranging things almost daily, so it will be nice when we get everything situated how we like it :-)

  2. WOWSERS! You were busy! My favorite thing this month... hard to choose, but I think it is the Ikat chair. So gorgeous.

My Storage Hack for Organizing Christmas Decorations

Every year when I pack up the decorations after Christmas, I collect all of the garlands together in one box, I get all the candlesticks together in another box, and all my nativity sets go into their own box. We label the boxes "garlands," "candles," "nativity sets,"...which seems great until you remember that you have […]

Cranberry-Glazed Ham

What do you make for Christmas dinner? Sometimes we'll do a prime rib or a roast turkey, but this year, I'm going all out with a Christmas ham that just looks festive. For this recipe, I made a cranberry-orange glaze with some warm winter spices that takes this ham to the next level. Oh and […]

Product Test: Portable Phone Chargers

Raise your hand if you panic when your phone's low battery notification turns on? (Just me??) There's nothing worse when I'm out on a fun holiday outing taking video memories of my family, and I see that red light. Or I'm traveling and stuck in the airport on a layover...it gives me anxiety! I've tried […]
