An Overnight Work Trip (and What I Packed)

June 5, 2024

I'm headed to Pennsylvania on an overnight work trip for a really exciting project (stay tuned for more details soon...), and feel like I finally found my travel look! It can be a struggle to pack for such a short trip, especially when you'll be in a colder airport and then back in the warmth outside. I don't want to bring a giant suitcase, but I still need to bring enough clothes and make-up to look presentable in case we're going out to dinner at a nicer place. My luggage line-up is a small carry-on, a travel backpack and my purse. The backpack is key to keep reading material handy (including some of my favorite magazines). And comfortable shoes are a must — I check my Oura ring a lot when I travel because I walk more and hit those bigger milestones!

Here's the rest of what I packed that will now be on my "travel uniform" list.

  1. Crop Knit Top $45 This top was part of my latest Zara order and I couldn't wait to wear it. It's so comfortable for a travel day while still feeling put together.
  2. Belt $52
  3. Jeans $160
  4. Adidas Sambas Sneakers $78
  5. Woven Tote Bag $188
  6. Backpack in "Taupe" $49 I found this while shopping in store at Target and have used it on all of my trips lately. It holds so much, it's a perfect overnight bag.
  7. CLJ x Walli James Case $46
  8. Oura Ring $449 I've gained so much insight from my Oura ring and love to keep an eye on my health metrics while I'm traveling so I still maintain my wellness goals.
  9. Gloss Ring $98
  10. Chain Drop Earrings $13
  11. Coco & Eve Self Tanner $41 This is hands down my favorite self tanner (and the winner of our self tanner product test) and keeps me looking sun kissed and pool ready all summer long.
  12. House Beautiful Magazine $6

The Fisherman Aesthetic that Is Making Waves

I haven't released my official 2025 trend predictions, but the fisherman aesthetic is one of the early styles of the year that has completely enraptured me. This trend is a departure from everyone's favorite coastal grandma look, which features Nancy Meyer-inspired whites, khakis, and soft blues. This aesthetic is your Wes Anderson's The Life Aquatic […]

Spicy Chicken Noodle Soup (A Twist on Singapore Noodles) | Grain-Free & Dairy-Free

This is the soup I want when I'm feeling on the verge of "under the weather"—not quite sick, but the cold outside is draining me a little bit. There's the feeling that you could get sick. That's when you want a spicy soup. I like this chicken noodle soup with the flavors of Singapore noodles: […]
