Casual Friday

Casual Friday: Best of March

April 2, 2021

March was the busiest month of life and work, I think ever? We made some major decisions and announcements about moving across the country and then all the subsequent projects that came with that. The funny thing is, dozens of times a day I still get asked, "Wait?! You're moving! You guys just finished this house!" We haven't finished this house but yes, we're moving. This weekend, we'll be celebrating Easter with family and I'm just soaking in every ounce of togetherness we have left.

Closet Sources, Bedroom Sources

We put out 5-7 posts a week right here, so it's very understandable if you missed some. But here are a few from March that were the MOST popular you wouldn't want to miss!

The top can't-miss posts of March

10 home staging tips
A day in the life
Comparing our two living rooms
Painting our interior doors black
Our Next Chapter (the move announcement) and We’re moving to…

We also share a lot of content on Instagram. Like all day, every day. So it's easy to miss things over there. Here are the most popular fashion and beauty favorites from March that we posted over there!

  1. Good luck in North Carolina. We lived in Durham for a few years and loved it. One caution is to be careful and preventative about ticks. The Lone Star tick is in that area, and two of our neighbors were bit. They both developed allergies to red meat. Just make sure you have some good tick repellent. I hope the move goes seamlessly and you enjoy NC.

  2. Next home, I beg you, don not remodel your bathroom! As soon as you get it finished, you move. The curse of the perfect bathroom. Make do with ugly tile and you'll stay put.

  3. You do drop a lot of content for us, thank you. I would like to see more of Chris wrangling chickens before you go east. That post was gold!

My Formula for When to Paint the Ceilings a Color and When Not To

Here's something you don't need me to tell you, but I'm telling you anyway: You get to choose whether you want to paint your ceiling or not! But, still, almost daily, I get asked "Why don't you paint that ceiling the color of the walls?" If you've never tried painting a ceiling and you're considering […]

Thai-Inspired Basil Beef Stir Fry

I'm back at it today with the Asian-inspired flavors. I always seem to lean that way in my recipes, but why would I use less flavor when I can fill my kitchen with the scent of ginger, garlic, and chilies?! Thai Basil Beef is one of my all-time favorite things to order for takeout. What […]

7 Things You Probably Shouldn't Have in Your House—If You're a Perfectionist

While I don't consider myself a perfectionist, I do like things neat—most of the time. It's important to me that my home is beautiful and lived in. I want it filled with laughter, joy, and life. If that means a few nicks and spills? That's fine with me. Even so, over the years of home […]
