Rug, Faux Lavender Stems, Sconce, Arch Mirror, Faucet, Cabinet Hardware, Curtains, Cafe Curtain Rod, Ceramic Canisters, hand towel

This week, after a lot of back and forth, I peeled up the peel and stick floors we laid in the girls bathroom last year. You can check out this post from February about our review of them. They started peeling up on a few of the corners and as cute as they were, I’d rather feel confident (and have our future buyer feel confident) about the condition of our home that we put so much work into, rather than worry or wonder what was underneath. I’m happy to report the vinyl stickers came off clean and left no residue.

After adding a few accessories, I’m still so pleased with this bathroom! I don’t even mind the original tile floors! We added a runner from our rug line with loloi (full stocked again here!), and some faux lavender stems that couldn’t look more real. (This is just one order of the stems seen here for $20!) Adding water to the vase just drives it home.

You can see more of the girls’ bathroom here!

Other fun finds this week!

  • This kitchen from @carlaypage stopped me in my tracks this week. I love everything from the stools to the ledge on the backsplash, the unexpected chandelier and those pretty branches.
  • My friend recommended these Amazon Slides and I gotta say, she wasn’t wrong. (I got “Milk Tea”) So comfy! I’d size up.
  • We shared the tiniest sneak peak of our new house (you didn’t think we were done with arches, did you!?) Ps. We’re keeping the brick as is–we love it! and it’s a really beautiful classic red–but in case you want inspo for painted brick, THIS is beautiful, too.
  • All my favorite Bermuda Shorts right now.
  • Everyone keeps telling me I’m going to only want to wear dresses when we move to North Carolina. This Spring-y maxi dress is an additional 50% off so I snagged it (and this one!)
  • Propertee launched these Homebody thread wallets yesterday!! Only $10!
  • I love Amanda’s art.
  • After wearing sweatshirts and tees for an eternity, I put this shirt on this week and felt so feminine and fancy but still casual with jeans. It’s my new favorite for the puffed sleeves and soft color, but also for the way it makes me feel. Special.
  • Cutest nail color for Spring!

  1. I ordered the same Mango high-waisted Bermuda shorts recently and sized up like you suggested, but they were WAY too big. I think they’re actually true to size. Had to send them back for an exchange.

  2. I really enjoy the blog and find great value in the information you share. I’ve been reading for about 8 years now, and I have no intention of leaving. I’ve noticed lately that the blog text is difficult to see. I admit I have vision issues and wear contacts. However the text appears a light gray color, instead of black. That makes it really hard to read on the white background. Is that my computer or a design issue If it’s design, may I humbly suggest more contrast would aid your visually impaired readers with viewing the screen and therefore enjoying the content? Either way, glad to be along for the journey.

  3. I originally voted to stick it back down, but think it was a good move to peel it up, especially when you talked about what buyers expect in your home’s price range – And with your accessorizing, it looks great! :)

Bathroom related question – I’m wanting a vintage-look rug for our bathroom (maybe from your line!), but my husband is skeptical of anything not labeled as a “bath mat.” He wants something that is able/meant to get wet (when stepping out of the shower), and can be machine washed regularly. But so many people are putting lovely regular rugs/runners in the bathroom! What is your take on this? Is water and washability a concern??

I’ve done some googling, and some say that 100% polyester rugs (without a rubber back) CAN be machine washed. Others suggested to put a small “bath mat” on top of the rug, just outside of the shower, to catch most of the water. Any ideas on this? If you’re able to answer, I appreciate your time! :)

  4. Love your girls’ bathroom.
It’s inspired me as I was trying to decide how to redo my own bathroom.
This is budget friendly and doable! I have the rug already in the bathroom and I love it!

  5. I am curious to see how you go with the dresses! I live in noncoastal SoCal with that mediterranean climate and while I definitely love the option of wearing dresses so much of the year, I generally only want to put one on when I don’t have much work to do (SAHM so work is homeschooling 2 littles, home and yard maintainence, and all the errands). A dress feels feminine, relaxed, and lovely and I don’t want to be in work mode in one! It’s denim shorts and tshirts 90% of the time.
