Back in the day, I offered design services and made mood boards for the masses and as much as I loved it (it's one of my true passions!), each one took me about 12-15 hours and I could only take a handful of clients a month because of the time investment I wanted to put into it. With a growing family and business, I had to pick and choose where to focus my energy and made the hard decision to stop virtually going into your homes and helping you pick paint colors and furniture and layout options.
The requests have continued to pour in (thank you!) and the desire in my heart never went away. When I see someone struggling to love their home, I WANT TO HELP! One night, I was talking to Chris about my goals and dreams for our business and mentioned that I would really love to find a way to launch design services again this year.

I was so excited when I first read the title of this because I just said to my husband that I wish you could help me decorate my house because I love your style and I am literally totally and completely stuck over here!!!!!! I cannot decide on my style, paint colors, furniture layouts, lights etc. literally stuck!!!!! I’ve never been this stuck!!!! For me, personally, I have to say this was not a great experience. I think the fact that I signed up via the CLJ website (and was therefore after the CLJ style) might have been lost in the process. Totally not your fault but I was a little surprised to get back the designs I did, even after taking their style quiz. Very 90s, coastal, old fashioned with quite a large awkward space unaddressed. Not CLJ at all! Let’s hope the changes I requested take it within the ball park. Fingers crossed.

We just moved into our first home and have quite a bit of updating to do! I pretty much have a good idea for all of the rooms but there is one that I would love to use Modsy for an L shape sectional that I know will fit in a living room but I dont know if it LOOK good because of the way the room flows...
ANYWAYS my question is - If I cant afford to buy all the furniture right away, can I still use Modsy? Or is a part of it that I have to buy all of the items within a certain time frame? Also if I have certain things in mind from a brand not in their designer library can I use that or do they find a comparable item in their place?

You definitely don't have to buy it all right away. You can get the designs and plan out your purchases as you go!

Is there furniture to accommodate an outdoor area? We are adding a screened porch that i would love to use this for.
They don't do outdoor right now unfortunately, but perhaps something to add in the future!

No kitchens unfortunately. Perhaps something we can look at in the future.
If you provide pictures of adjoining rooms/areas/hallways is Modsy able to take the general aesthetic of your home into consideration, or are they looking at the one specific room and nothing outside of it?

They definitely can - you just want to submit photos of those spaces as well.

This is really exciting! Do you think it would be applicable to a business officer as well? We literally have a blank canvas for our office, and I wonder if these services would work in that space as well!
That would depend on the use of the space, but you can talk over your ideas with Modsy and they can let you know.

If we choose your collection, can we only choose from that collection when we swap out items in the design or can we choose from everything in the Modsy catalog?
You can choose from anything, absolutely, but the recommendations will come from our curated collection.
I LOVE that you added that we do NOT have to clean up before taking the room picture! It was a thoughtful, realistic detail to add that makes me love you guys even more. And makes the process that much more accessible... especially for us families with a gaggle of little kids but still trying to refresh our homes! Congratulations, this is so exciting for you both!!

Our furniture line is hosted through Interior Define, found here. But when you do a design through Modsy they can show you where to buy the furniture. They can't ship product to the UK, but they can definitely do designs for you.
First of all, I love your taste so this is super cool (even though I'm a little hesitant because I feel like a home is so personal I'm not sure another person can get it just right). I may give it a try though as we just moved and I'm stymied by the room we spend the most time in. My question is, can you describe the outside features of the room? Our family room windows look out to a river and I'd like to see that view from the couch. Is there a way to have some input on special features of the space even if it's the view? Thanks!
You can definitely work through all of that with your Modsy designer. They are very open during the process and want to make sure it is a great result for you.

Is it more of a furniture design (obviously because we can all get a peek at your awesome furniture collection) or help with the whole room? Paint color, art, curtains, rugs etc.

This is full service, from layout to furnishings, wall color and finishing touches like art, rugs and decor. You'll work with someone from the Modsy team under my direction. :)
Another clarifying question -- when you say "under your direction," do you mean that you're actually looking at each submission that comes in and directing the particular design of the room? Or is your direction come from the fact that Modsy designers will only use pieces you have selected in general? Thanks for the additional information!
We really wish we could, unfortunately there are just too many requests for that, I'm afraid it wouldn't be plausible. That's why the partnership with Modsy is so great. We've worked very closely with them to set proper expectations and we'll doing quality checks along the way.

i did a modsy room in Jan because i saw your sponsored post and LOVED it! it is SUCH a great service -- very exciting!
Curious if there are any plans to be able to change the wall coverings/flooring in the renderings? I was playing with my room layout just yesterday and it would be cool to be able to change the paint color of the walls in the rendering.

I looked into it a while ago, and you can- it's an add-on feature that I believe is like $10 per change (since I too wanted to see my room with a different flooring and wall color)
