It’s December 2–Is anyone else gearing up for Christmas cards? Has anyone already received any? (That would be REALLY impressive…yeesh!)  Back in October, I admitted that I was brainstorming.  And then when I got new pajamas for my birthday, I knew I wanted our card to take a turn for the cozy.  Picture this: Chris, Greta and I all curled up in bed with our jammies on.  Smiling, because we are so happy to be a family and so excited for Christmas.  *Click!*  Brandon’s camera captures the whole thing and we have our Marcum Christmas card…the first as a family of 3.

Last Christmas, when we were just 2, we didn’t take a “Christmas picture” we just used a snapshot from Cam and Kasey’s wedding and added an appropriate caption to the bottom:

Cute, even a little witty…but definitely homemade.  This year, I have already been eyeing cards on Shutterfly.  They have a ton of Christmas photo card options.  At the top of my list:

And if you don’t celebrate Christmas, or maybe a lot of your friends and/or family don’t–but you still want to spread some cheer, they got you covered in that department, too.
You’re smiling, aren’t you?  If a bright blue snowflake doesn’t scream your family’s name, how about this one?
I don’t think it gets classier than a monogrammed Holiday Card.
So now that I have myself drooling over stationary–again–I should really get focused on what photo is going to grace one of these beauties.  As Greta reported yesterday, she wasn’t super cooperative in our first photo shoot.  The picture of the gitty and cozy family of three didn’t exactly turn out as I described in paragraph one:
Hopefully, Brandon captured one of us all (ahem..Greta) smiling and “happy to be a family.”  If not, we’ll take some more pictures, and if all else fails–we can take advantage of Shutterfly’s other holiday cards…
…holding out for the gold glitter may be worth it.

(Note: Shutterfly perk’d me for writing this blog, maybe you could get some perks, too!  And, Congratulations to Kayla for winning the mini faux sheepskin!!  Also, don’t forget to check out Greta’s post today.)
