Giveaway Gold: Obi-Wan RYOBI

July 27, 2011

When RYOBI caught word that we were having issues with our drill a few weeks back, they were happy to help us understand how a drill should work. In true Jedi fashion, Ryobi promised to hold up infinitely better than our drill and that it wouldn't stop when it hit a stud like our current drill did. What?! Could it be true!? A duel between the two is in the works, my friends. Although, I already know how it is gonna end. But those details are for a different post. *cue Star Wars theme*

Good news, RYOBI also wants to hand over a drill kit to one of our readers. Woot.

This Ryobi 18 Volt One+ Drill Kit includes a sa-weet cordless drill, two 18-volt Ni-Cad One+ batteries and a 1-hour diagnostic charger, and a handy bag to carry it/store it all in. The drill itself has a 1/2 in. single-sleeve keyless chuck with spindle lock for easy bit changing and 2-speed transmission and 24-position clutch for high-torque applications. It features a 1,600 RPM speed with variable speed settings to accommodate each job you tackle.

Sounds legit, right? You be the judge.

The Nitty Gritty--

Prize: One RYOBI 18v Drill Kit (the one featured right here valued at $92)

Number of Winners: One lucky stud/ette.

To Enter: Leave a comment with the phrase "Help Me Obi-Wan RYOBI" and let us know any future project you would love to use this drill for. For instance, I can't wait to tackle some sort of entertainment center in our family room with ease. (Yikes. We have had a cardboard box blocking cables for nearly 4 months now.) Don't forget to leave your email address so we can get ahold of you if you win!

Details: Prize ships to anywhere in the United States. Giveaway closes Thursday, August 4th at 9pm MST. Only one entry per person. The winner will be chosen using Random.org and announced on Friday, August 5th.

Good luck...eerrrr...may the force be with you.

  1. Help Me Obi-Wan RYOBI--please!! :) I would have my hubby use this to build some shelves for us in our storage space...it would be so nice to have our things in there organized a bit better! More specifically, I could store the vintage treasures I buy for my etsy shop more safely--and perhaps then be able to buy more! ;)

    [email protected]

  2. Help Me Obi-Wan RYOBI because I know my husband would LOVE one! He is always working with his hands and loves new projects. I do craft shows and would love to make a display out of wood!

  3. Help Me Obi-Wan RYOBI!! I think the list of projects is endless for us too! My hubby is in the process of building some new furniture for our baby's room and also has projects out side to get done on our house.
    hisprincess886 at yahoo dot com

  4. Help Me Obi-Wan RYOBI!!! We too are looking for a house and as the looks of it, there will be lots of shelving, building, unscrewing, and hanging. Plus Brandon would feel like a super duper MAN if he had this!!

  5. Help Me Obi-Wan RYOBI! I STILL haven't finished the coffee table we started building MONTHS ago. Our list of projects is twice as long as our endurance to do them.

  6. Help Me Obi-Wan RYOBI! We are planning on buying a house in the not-too-distant future, and we will need help with a bazillion different things!

  7. Obi-wan... pick me! Pick me! Just a few days ago we needed to lower Jaden's crib and the drill we currently have started to smoke and stink really bad! It's on its last leg, so we need a new one! We would provide a lovely home for this drill and would put it to work all over the place! Thanks for your consideration! :)

  8. Help Me Obi-Wan RYOBI! We just moved from Texas into a basement apartment here in Utah and were given permission to build shelving in all the closets but our old drill died (and was a really bad purchase to begin with). This will make my hubby so happy! I have been secretly reading your blog for a while now, I can't remember how I found it but I love with your style and cute little family.

  9. I'm taking a chance on this one. I won the last giveaway being #2....so I'm trying it again!!!

Ohhhhhh Obi-wan RYOBI! I NEEED you! The biggest project I would use you for would be a shelving unit for all my sewing and craft things. They are TAKING over and they must be organized into one home. So, how about we just end the giveaway right now and pick me? uh uh uh?? okay, I guess I'll let ya play the fair way!

  10. Help Me Obi-Wan RYOBI!!! Oh the projects we could use this for....the list is endless! One thing my hubby is making me is a laundry basket cabinet (to take the place of the laundry *hamper*). He will also build the children a clubhouse, one day! :) I wish I could jump up and down and wave my hands in the air and convince you to pick me....that's not a fair thing to do, you say? Ok...I'll just entered the old-fashioned way, I suppose! Thanks for the chance!! :o)

  28. Help Me Obi-Wan RYOBI!!! I am a huge animal lover and love to rescue dogs. I am actually in the process of starting a chapter of the Humane Society in my parish, but for now I do what I can and keep most of them with me and/or in my house. My little sis is in the Navy. When she was in school in FL she rescued a pit bull (brindle colored and beautiful) from some people who had had puppies and were selling them. This one was four months old and they couldn't sell him because he was missing a toenail. My sister took him because the people couldn't make money off of him so they weren't giving him his shots or feeding him well or at all that we could tell. I went to pick her up as she had sold her car while she was there too. Long story a little bit shorter, I ended up with him since she was being stationed in CA. We had brand new furniture he ate, yep he ate it. And he ate a hole in my bedroom door, as well as ate most of my dining room table. We are moving to the country when my daughter graduates high school in two years so I can have more dogs and they can run free. Until then we are living in a half eaten house that we really need to fix. Lol. This would help us greatly. Thanks for the chance.

    lewalk(at)hotmail(dot)com

P.S. Max, the pit, has since calmed down. He's three years old now. He is the best, sweetest, most loving dog I have. The vet told me it was nurture not nature and I believe it. We have loved him and he loves us and everyone else now.

I've been I'll for a long time so our home has been kinda falling apart around us. The first thing I would fix is my back screen door. A few weeks the wind came up & blew it right off of the hinges. It ripped right out of the wall so new holes need to be drilled in to be able to install it. I also would love to make a shelf unit for all of my nail polishes which right now are just in boxes on my floor. Need to display them to help me with my YouTube channel. There are other things that need to be fixed around here but those are just a couple. Thx for hosting this giveaway.

I still need to build the desk base (shelves for craft paper) a ribbon picture frame box, hang 6 more shelves and create desk supports. I have all sorts of projects that a good drill could make a lot easier and that I would probably tackle if I knew I didn't have to fight with the old (not even cordless, no power) drill.

  86. Julie! This post was so punny. Clever girl. I like how you called the winner a stud/ette. Funny Punny Funny. I didn't even know you ever watched Star Wars. I was obviously wrong. Oh Help me Obi-Wan RYOBI this is dragging on. I would use the drill to build tiers in my basement. And then carpet them. So it's like ancient Egypt. Not chairs or furniture. just tiers. And then I'd use it again to hang a disco ball. So I could have a dance party down there.

  99. "Help Me Obi-Wan RYOBI" we just bought a 106 year old fixer upper house and could use this for NEW KITCHEN CABINETS!!!! :) (we could use the cabinets tooo!!) There are TONS of things in the house we have to redo so this would be used all OVER the place! I will surely get carpal tunnel if we don't win. Thank you for the chance! :)

  101. Help Me Obi-Wan RYOBI!!! I would definitely use this drill to do all my man projects that I have just waiting for me around the house! Not to mention all of the things my wonderful wife would have me do as well.

  102. Help Me Obi-Wan RYOBI! We are looking for our first house, so I'm sure there will be plenty of projects to tackle then! I have plans for building quite a few things from ana-white.com!

  103. Help Me Obi-Wan RYOBI!!

I have so many projects running through my mind right now but we are in desperate need of a new bed - specifically a farmhouse bed my hubby & I are planning to DIY.
