Thank you for your patience this week as we read through all 2648 of your submissions for the Lowe's Spring makeover. We took our task really seriously and ultimately landed on the space above, belonging to Aura S. of Baltimore, Maryland. We're excited to share plans and progress and Instagram the project in real time when we're actually doing the makeover. There were so many deserving spaces, and we wish we could have selected more than one, but are hopeful for a lot more future projects like this.
We also want to thank you for all of your well-wishes about Greta's hearing. She had a successful surgery yesterday. She woke up in a lot of pain, but she's already hearing 100% better and we're told it's only going to improve over the next 10 days. To be honest, the recovery is no picnic, but she's trying to drink a lot of fluids and watching all her favorite shows, about 25 notches softer than she used to. :)
Other inspiring things this week!
• Do you follow deVOL Kitchens on Instagram? Before we even knew we were doing a kitchen for the spring makeover, I found myself flagging and saving so much of their feed. I love the color of these saturated cabinets.
• The case for not following trends. (I dig it.)
• Nordstrom has a lot of their Nike clothing 40% off. I am obsessed with this pullover, these leggings (gah! those leggings!), and can't wait to workout in this muscle tank (just $20!).
• With a new rug on its way, I'm also thinking of a coffee table/bench like this for the living room. I love the warm wood and the longer, linear bench style that can double as extra seating in a pinch!
• THIS fireplace makeover. Slow clap, Brittany. You continue to inspire me!
Hope you all have a fantastic weekend! Big stuff coming Monday!
not that you will have time, but

is a very cool place to check out
Baltimore! This is a great city! If you need any unique finds check out second chance warehouse.
Congratulations to Aura. Looks like a challenging project and a fun one. Can't wait to see what you & Lowe's do with it! Way to go to your team for wading through such a huge mountain of entrants at the same time you have so much going on otherwise! Speedy recovery to Greta! I had surgery this week too so I can relate to the not fun part of recovery!
also, i've been eyeing that same rug that you ordered (I had seen it on Overstock but I'm sure it's the exact same one), so i'm excited to see what you think. . .
seeing your comment about the Nike pullover made me want to tell you that they have some super comfy cowl neck pullovers (perfect weight-- not too heavy or light) at Costco right now that are only $18 and come in lots of colors-- dark gray, light gray, pink, and blue. the brand is Gerry. just got one today and i think i need one in every color now! link here: https://www.costco.com/Gerry-Ladies%E2%80%99-Cowl-Neck-Pullover-.product.100300229.html
Bummer we didn't win! But you're still coming to my neighborhood! :D I can give you guys some good options for food if you'll have any "downtime." Hahahaha! Which I doubt since you'll be making this old Baltimore home look amazing.
Can you let us know who made your lists of finalists? I'm sad I didn't win, but looking forward to seeing your transformation of the Baltimore kitchen!
Perfect pick! Can't wait to see your magic touch. Also, those painted cabinets by deVOL are dreamy!

Congratulations to Aura! I'd love to hear some snippets from her at the end on what the process was like for her.
I can barely follow deVol because it fuels my unrealistic dream of moving to the English countryside a bit too much.
Glad that Greta is recovering well. Our daughter had tubes at 11 months then tubes, and adenoids out at 5. Made a major different!!! Really think the adenoids out helped most. Tubes only stayed in a year the second time.
We make custom tables very similar to that one.
Nice pick! Could we know who made it to the top 10??
I feel like that might do more harm than good?
Hi Julia! Something to consider with that table/bench - because of the way the legs are narrower at the bottom, it might be kind of tippy if someone sat too close to the edge.
Why don't you diy the coffee table?

Can't wait to see the transformation of that kitchen! What a neat space with so much potential!
That is quite a juxtaposition - the columns, the cabinets. And therefore will be an incredible transformation!
Very good news about your daughter! And what an interesting kitchen project. Can't wait to follow.
Oh you're coming to Baltimore and I didn't win! So sad! But I can't wait to see what you do with this space. I'm sure it will be amazing!
Congrats to Aura! I can't wait to see how you guys transform that kitchen.
