I remember when Chris and I were newlyweds, blissfully figuring out our new life together, we were gifted these Rubbermaid food storage containers with red lids. Those EasyFindLids red lidded containers have been a constant after all these years, and I’d bet they’ve made their way into many of your homes, as well. So when Rubbermaid asked us if we would be interested in bringing a fresh colorway to their EasyFindLids as their first Designer Series, we jumped on it. How could we say no to a chance to give our favorite food containers a fresh new look??

The entire process took more than 18 months. Another constant in my life through that time has been this beautiful steel blue gray color. I’ve loved it always, and when Rubbermaid came to us, the cool gray walk-in closet we revealed was fresh on my mind. I used it as the initial inspiration behind this classic cool blue, along with the majority of my wardrobe–washed denim, chambray shirts, and linen button-ups. I think we landed on the perfect Skylight Blue lid color, which brings a fresh, modern look to everyday food storage. The EasyFindLids containers are stackable, and there’s a charcoal gray venting pop-up so you can keep the lid on in the microwave with no splatters.

Fun fact: I was standing on a step stool to get this shot!

Back in December, Rubbermaid sent a creative team to our house to oversee the big photoshoot (that we had a bare bones kitchen in place for) and we had the most fun. Everybody was incredibly kind and in sync and we all meshed together to bring about this product that we’re all so proud of. If you think back to December, we were racing against the clock getting our kitchen to a point where we could even shoot in here! So many details came together last minute, and some details were totally missing haha, but we made it work!

Chris developed a recipe that was photographed and will be posted on the side of every box (we shared it here on Sunday!) and having Andrea shoot everything for the packaging and promotion inside our own kitchen was top priority. Our homes have always been more memorable than Chris and I, so we wanted to showcase the Rubbermaid containers in a place you all recognize as ours.

You can get a 42 pack on Amazon today, but also keep your eyes peeled in your local Target next weekend ;).

  1. I have loved these over the years! But its definitely time for some new tupperware. Would you guys ever do another color?? Oh what I would do for an almond or charcoal color! (I can’t deal with the bright red…)

    • We still use and love ours too! We don’t have anything on the roadmap, but we’re open to it.

  2. Thank goodness for a pretty color! I’m in need of new storage containers and the previous selections were grim. Can’t wait for my set to arrive!
