Reader's Choice: Closet Color!

January 25, 2013
Remember when we were renovating the studio and you readers picked everything from the curtains to the paint colors!? That was such a cool experience and experiment on our end.  A little nerve-wrecking (cue nervous laughter), but mostly a lot of fun.  And really, you did an amazing job! When we talked about our plans to embark on and makeover Greta's closet yesterday, one reader suggested we paint the interior a fun color like our inspiration photos.  We are definitely on board for that idea, but want you to be a part of the selection process. Fun!?  We narrowed down our top picks for you and whipped up a poll for you to easily vote for your favorite. May the best hue win. Your choices are:

  1. I pinked pink because if I was decorating a room for my daughters that's what they would have pick at Greta's age.

But really as much fun as it is voting for your color choice, I think you should give the options to Greta and let her pick. It's her room after all!

  2. Yay for reader's choice! Pink would definitely be fun but I voted for the minty green...it's beautiful!!! And I think it would work perfectly with the existing wallpaper/butterflies(I LOVE those by the way!)/and paint color.

  3. I voted for bold pink because every girl should have a pink closet but that's not to say that I fully support minty green. We were going to paint my daughters room a pretty/relaxing minty green color but I got scared and decided on a taupe. I didn't buy the paint yet so my mind may change again.

Canadian Cowboy: Not Your Average Western Look

I loved seeing fresh takes on Western wear. It goes to show there's room for fashion in every aesthetic. Recently I saw this funny interview with Brett Goldstein of Ted Lasso fame. He said he recently went to Texas for the first time (he's English if you're unaware), put on a cowboy hat and immediately […]

My Tell-All Review of Composite Cutting Boards

This post is not sponsored and all opinions are my own. Nothing matches a beautiful wooden cutting board (our Boos board lives on my counter—it's a piece of art and sturdy as an ox). The drawback with wooden cutting boards is they can't be cleaned in the dishwasher. For anyone cutting meat, seafood, or anything […]

How to Perfectly Cook a Steak in Any Kitchen

The best way to make a steak is indoors. That's not a concession! It's done in all of the best steakhouses. They don't tend to use a grill, even though that is where most of us start when it comes to cooking a steak. This time of year? I'd rather be indoors than freezing outside, […]
