A Sectional For the A-frame, and an Article Sofa for You!

We haven't done any major renovations to our cabin yet--but we're learning, once again, there's so much you can do even before you dive into full renovations. And while the snow (so much snow!) is still falling in the Palisades--where our A-frame sits on the side of a steep hill--we're focusing on those things.

The very first thing? The perfect lounge-y sectional. We decided on the Mello Taos Brown Sectional from Article for its warm, rich, easy-to-clean leather, its casual, low vibe, and the extra deep seats. Also, it was in stock and ready to ship in 3-5 days and we were expecting company up here for the holidays!

Now, we have ordered from Article before and they usually deliver in your house, and even put it in place for you. But our cabin doesn't get deliveries--there's a small fedex delivery box (like, a literal metal box where you can pick things up) a mile down the road. So! We had it delivered to our home where the delivery guys loaded it right into our truck and then we hauled it up a few flights of snowy stairs at the cabin.

I know what you're thinking--from the picture, it doesn't look like you hauled anything! In reality, I just had to grab my mittens from the truck and Chris was propping the box there waiting for me to return. But I would be lying if I said the break halfway up the stairs wasn't a welcomed one. Lots of breaks. Lots of breaks. Once we got it inside, we had one more flight to bring it up, but were very thankful for the slim nature of this sofa.

It comes in a few configurations, we went with the left arm sofa and right arm chaise and--gah! It's perfect. Perfect. Perfect.

For reference, Chris is 6'4"...and Polly is 29". The seat is deep! The biggest question I received while sharing a few sneak peeks on Instagram over the last few weeks was about the lower back--is it comfortable? 

It's so comfortable. It's the perfect height to rest an arm on, which feels...freeing. And when you're not resting an arm, it just feels like a hug honestly. It hits us on the back in a very supportive spot.

And while we're still figuring out a million other details up here--we got the lounge spot down, and that feels like a big win.

    I would love to switch to a sectional in our living room but we bought a sofa a few years ago and my husband is hesitant to make another switch.

  91. Because I am in South Africa, if I win I am going to pay this forward to my dear sister in law in Canada. I wish I could choose one for her, but as she is a physiotherapist she may have a different point of view on ergonomics and back support so I would rather leave it to her to choose.   277. I love the Burrard sofa! Our living room couch is currently covered with a slipcover I lovingly crafted out of paint drop cloths from Lowes to disguise the damage done by our dogs. It was a super cheap solution, and it doesn't look terrible, but it's definitely not great.

  371. I looked through and would love the same sofa you have. The natural tones that blend in with the natural wood in my floors. I like that it's low too because we have 2 kids who love to climb on things. I like that the back is wide. It could be flush to the wall so things don't fall behind but also hold up kids who sit on it.

    I super need a new sofa, and have been looking at Article for a while while I collect research and try to convince my partner that while we could keep our sagging old Ikea couch (I got it used and put a new slipcover on it so it's...pretty old) for two more years until we move out of our apartment, doesn't mean that we should. Wouldn't it be nice to have a new couch to enjoy now? Wouldn't it me nice to enjoy sitting down?!? Got any good points for my argument in support of replacing our couch sooner than later?
