I love love and cherish relationships and my love language is gift-giving, so for these reasons—I love Valentine's Day. I also love that we get a fun, flirty holiday in the doldrums of winter.
I recently read an article called "Americans Need to Party More", and it made me realize we should have more celebrations. Having a bit of fun doesn't have to be expensive. You can cut out hearts from construction paper. You can make heart pancakes with whipped cream and strawberries. You can just write a love note and tuck it in your kid's lunch. It can be as big or as small as you want it to be.
Growing up, my dad always got all us girls a flower and box of chocolates. It was as simple and easy as that. I loved it, and I love that Chris carries on that tradition with our girls. Last year I sent Heartsagrams from Framebridge to all of my friends for Valentine's Day of a sweet capture they posted on Instagram. It was easy to upload pics online and send directly to them—they loved it!
If you'd like to give a little something to brighten Valentine's Day for your partner, your best girl friend, or your kids, here are some of my picks this year. For our anniversary, Chris and I often gift experiences. But if Chris gets me a piece of jewelry for Valentine’s Day, that would be well-received—hint hint, if you're reading this. :)

Here's something you don't need me to tell you, but I'm telling you anyway: You get to choose whether you want to paint your ceiling or not! But, still, almost daily, I get asked "Why don't you paint that ceiling the color of the walls?" If you've never tried painting a ceiling and you're considering […]
I'm back at it today with the Asian-inspired flavors. I always seem to lean that way in my recipes, but why would I use less flavor when I can fill my kitchen with the scent of ginger, garlic, and chilies?! Thai Basil Beef is one of my all-time favorite things to order for takeout. What […]

(It makes my life easier too when I want to check my favorite retailers!) It's a big deal weekend for major appliances, tech devices, and […]
While I don't consider myself a perfectionist, I do like things neat—most of the time. It's important to me that my home is beautiful and lived in. I want it filled with laughter, joy, and life. If that means a few nicks and spills? That's fine with me. Even so, over the years of home […]
