Yesterday was the launch of our new Polly rug collection with Loloi! The support has been overwhelming and we’re so excited to finally share this labor of love with you all. The collection was inspired from a need in the market–something to mix and match with vintage rugs, or vintage-inspired rugs like our first collections with Loloi. From the very start, this Polly collection was designed to compliment and pair seamlessly with our Jules, Rosemarie, and Alice collections. If you have an open floor-plan, and/or plan on having multiple rugs on the same floor (and you definitely should), this is your go-to resource for rug pairings!

Rule of Thumb!

I hope the key takeaway here is to have fun with mixing patterns. One rule of thumb is to be mindful of how each of the rugs connect from room to room. For example, we now have a Polly rug in our living room, and we styled one in our bedroom, but I don’t know that it’s staying.  They are neighboring rooms and I’d love to see some contrast. I think it would be nice to have a large vintage rug under our bed–something with more of an intricate pattern, to balance out the geometric Polly rug in the living room. The same applies to walls! If you have a patterned wallpaper in one room, then the walls in the neighboring rooms could be either painted or a more simple wallpaper. It’s all about balance! I also pay attention to colors and undertones so that rugs flow from one room to another just like you would want a room to.

Rug Pairings

We put together 11 different pairings below, but the combinations are infinite!! If you already have a rug of ours, maybe start with finding it on here and see what else would pair nicely with it. Also, refer to our rug size guide to make sure you’re getting the right dimensions for your space! Buying a too-small rug is a common mistake you don’t want to make! The very first pairing below you can see above in real spaces in our homes!

  1. I have the Georgie Moss/Salmon rug in my living room and would love ideas on dining since it’s an open concept home (right next to each other)

  2. Thank you for this post! I just moved into a tudor style house that has a very large entryway, a formal living room, and formal dining room that are all open to one another. I’ve been struggling to figure out how to do 3 rugs that are different but cohesive. This post is so helpful!

  3. The new rugs are gorgeous! No pairings with Jules Natural/Ocean? I’m hoping it will work well with Polly Antique Mist. Thank you!

    • They are REALLY quite thick, but when I think back to the stair runners in my old house–they were thick as well so it might just work!! Definitely gonna need to put some muscle into it. :)
