The Packing Nazi

March 30, 2011
Last night, we finished packing up the kitchen and pantry.  Whew.  So now we are shoulder deep in boxes and living off of eggs, quesadillas and anything else we can cook on a flat skillet--as all of our pots and pans and plates are packed up.  So, even though Chris hasn't posted one of his delish meals in a while--I wouldn't expect one this week, either.  Unless, he decides to write about Sonic's new Chicago-style hot dogs we tried out last night for dinner--'cause those were almost blog-worthy and I'm not even a hot dog person.
The real moving boxes and gathered food/diaper boxes are not friends I guess

Not to say Chris isn't busy, he is right beside me packing away at night.  During the day, I don't get too much packing done with Greta, the destructor, following my every footstep.  I spend most of my time making sure she doesn't kill herself by climbing all those boxes (yes, she's climbing like crazy now) or pulling things on top of herself.  As you can see below, she's got her eye on getting all of those wrapped up paintings in her possession before the end of the day.

I am a little bit of a packing Nazi.  I tell Chris about 6 times a night, don't just throw random stuff in a box.  Organize it and pack it correctly and label the box.  Here is my formal apology to Chris.  Sorry for drilling that into your head babe, you have done amazing and I have no complaints.  In fact, while preventing Greta's certain death in the box scene this morning, I came across a couple of boxes Chris had labeled accurately....and hilariously.

Pssst....thanks for all the advice about baby gates.  We are soaking it all in and we'll see where we end up and, of course, we'll keep you posted.  In the meantime, Munchkin (the brand of our favorite gate) is giving away a baby gate on their facebook page to the person's video with the most "likes."  So, if you haven't already, head over to their facebook page, "like" Munchkin, and then scroll down to the video I posted of Greta getting her own packing action on.  You'll for sure enjoy it, but don't forget to "like" it.  Thanks a mill.

My Easy & Delicious Thanksgiving Menu

This year for Thanksgiving, I'm all about quick prep (we're talking as few as 5 minutes) and big flavor payoff. My Thanksgiving menu will be a mix of tried-and-true classics from the Chris Cooks archives, plus some new recipes that I created this fall. But what this Thanksgiving dinner won't be is stuffy, overly formal, […]

Target Gifts Under $30 That Will *Definitely* Impress

This post is sponsored by Target It's the gift-givingest time of the year — and I have something to confess. Every year, I forget someone. It's true: In the holiday hustle, I have forgotten my sister's new partner or my neighbor or a cousin (who, in my defense, was not supposed to be in town). […]
