I love lemonade, but I feel like most store-bought or restaurant-served options are too sweet, too sour, and/or make me more thirsty after drinking them than I was before.
This is a simple lemonade that leans on natural sweeteners - honey and stevia powder - to make a refreshing and light drink perfect for summer mornings, afternoons, and evenings.
Refreshing, light, and pucker-free lemonade that will quench the greatest of thirsts.
Prep Time10 minutesmins
Course: Drinks
Servings: 6
Ingredients
1/2gallonwater
1/2cuphoney
2/3cuplemon juicefresh squeezed - this is important!
1handfulmint leaves
1-1 1/2tspstevia powder
1-2cupsice
Instructions
Make the syrup by combing the honey and lemon juice in a cup and whisk until combined. Add the mint to the syrup and gently muddle with a muddler or the back end of a wooden spoon (muddling is when you crush and bruise the leaves to bring out the oils and flavor more).
Pour the syrup with the mint and the stevia into the water. Mix until combined, add the ice, stir again and enjoy!
Looks delicious!! Can I sub regular sugar? Or something other than Stevia or artificial sweeteners? I just hate the taste of Stevia so I don’t keep it around. Thanks!
You bet! The honey is what really makes it special so I would encourage using that, but you can substitute the stevia out with sugar (though you'll need more sugar).
