It's been the most incredible, exciting, exhausting week over here with the launch of our new rug line with Loloi (more on that in a minute) and getting ready for the ProperTee Holiday Collection launching tonight at 7!! We have a lot of great new designs on the softest sweatshirts. I'm so proud of the colors, fit and blend--we can't wait for you to get your hands on it.
(Lots of questions about my camel wool coat in stories, it's a steal from here!)
During our time off, after Willow's death, there were some really low mental points that kind of felt like the culmination of the entire year. With our big rug launch days away, after 14 months of a ton of work!, doubt started creeping in. What if it isn't successful? So many people (and really REALLY large companies) were counting on us to make this launch successful and we were currently not in a mental space to even post or talk to anyone. I was worried about what that could mean. Sometimes it's difficult to step away and take care of yourself and your family and not think, "I'm getting so behind." "People are losing interest." "People are going to lose money!" But when we launched on Monday, I was reminded what we have in all of you--not fans or followers, but friends. Real relationships that extend over time. Some of you have been showing up here with us for 11 years! We felt lifted and supported and best of all, felt your genuine excitement for what we created for you and your homes.
I just wanted to say thank you, really. I don't think I say it enough. I know I don't. Online relationships can feel a little bit vague sometimes. We can look at Google Analytics, and we're told numbers and see engagement, but sometimes it's easy to wonder--Is anyone there? And if they're there...do they care? Am I more than just a content generator to them?
And this week, we felt the care to the umpteenth degree. We felt the mass of all of you and are sending out a big group hug for mourning with us when we mourn and for celebrating with us when we really needed to celebrate. It means so much that you told your families and friends and sent us messages of congrats...days after your condolences. It was a roller-coaster of emotions and it felt comforting that you were riding that with us.
I know many of you have gotten a rug from our line with Loloi (or are getting one), we would love to see (and repost with credit and permission!) Tag us and use the hashtag #CLJxLoloi when you post about it. And for those that had your eye on one that has already sold out (again, so blown away!!!), we are looking at a restock hopefully on Tuesday, November 17th! Set your alarms and I'll remind you, too.
For now, here are a few of my favorites from the #CLJxLoloi hashtag this week. <3
Hope you have a wonderful, safe and happy weekend. We're hunkering down and putting up our tree. :)
I can not wait until I purchase a new couch in the spring. Though I think the hardest decision will be choosing one of your rugs to go with it - and I thought couch shopping was tough! So many beautiful colors, I love all the colors! I may have to go bold :) After seeing all the pictures & reading all the rave reviews I know I've narrowed down my choice to your line. Congratulations on all your successes!
Your loss of Willow brought tears to my eyes. Even if you don’t regularly hear from some of us, know there is a Huge group that cares for your family and keeps you in our thoughts during tough times. Personally, I regularly referred to a couple of your posts on Polly’s sleep schedule and tips as I was trying to figure out how to get my own new born on the sleep train. Plus your blog is a wonderful companion for those late night nursing/rock sessions with the little one. Congrats on your rug launch! It is a joy to see you succeed and to hear that even you guys face uncertainty in the midst of success. Your design work and personal notes are appreciated and heard.
I love your words Julia! Thank you for sharing your vulnerability, and I’m so happy for you guys. Happy you’re feeling the love your community has for you - that is far from vague and full of admiration, FRIENDSHIP and care!
Omg I am so proud of you all!! I love seeing people succeed and reach their goals. You all work so freaking hard to bring us the best content and I personally appreciate it so much. You’ve inspired me in so many ways, from business to design. ????????????
