I’ve been considering painting our bedroom brown and so I did… using Photoshop! More satisfying than watching paint dry, plus I just had to try on this earthy paint color digitally before committing.
Painting our bedroom a raisin, mahogany color has been on my mind. Rich and bold, not too warm and not too cool–the perfect brown if you will. After we painted our pantry brown a couple years ago, I guess I really am itching for a repeat.
It feels like a drastic departure from our white box, which hasn’t stopped me before, and which I desperately want. Although Chris said he’d be fine if I painted our bedroom hot pink (never will), he brought up some good points against painting it brown. Our bedroom feels weightless with the amount of light it gets. It’s true! We currently have a lot of white on white on cream going on and it feels breezy (but it can also feel like nothing is standing out). We also agreed that we’ve painted bedrooms dark before and it can feel very cozy.
One solution could be to keep the trim, crown, and ceiling white, and just paint the walls.
Whether we paint it brown or not, it feels unfinished and although it wasn’t on our 2022 project list, I’m getting itchy for a change. And hey, it’s just paint.
