July was the peak of summer in all the best ways! We intentionally slowed down a little this month, which included going off the grid at a beautiful mountainside lake and a trip to Idaho to see friends and family. We did a few house projects, like adding wallpaper to Greta's room, painting our front door, and adding a stair runner to our back hallway. We hosted a (free!) Home Styling 101 summer school to show you how you can style your home for you — not just for guests. Now we're home watching the Olympics and gearing up for Polly's birthday on Thursday (I grabbed her thisadorable notebook that she's going to LOVE journaling in)!
Here are nine more things that won me over this month:
Slingback Flats: I've been very into slingbacks lately...I think they're becoming my thing. I ordered these from the Nordstrom sale!
Midi Dress: The most perfect summer dress does exist. Comes in a bunch of colors (I have it in navy!).
Cat Eye Sunglasses: Easily the most asked-for link in my DMs. No one has to know they cost $15!
Judy Natural / Sky Runner: We finally tackled a project that's been on my to-do list for years and installed this runner on our back staircase. Trust me when I tell you these are the softest jute rugs around!
Platform Sandals: I'm seeing straw platform sandals everywhere lately and just had to have these.
Urn Planter: These planters are such a substantial scale and were the finishing touch to our front door project. I spray painted them a dark, moody bronze... no regrets!
Adirondack Chairs: This is such a good deal for chairs that are almost identical to the ones by our fire pit. They're made of a poly-lumber material so they will withstand the elements!
Brown Mascara: I just tried brown mascara for the first time, and wow, have I been missing out! I love the softer look it gives.

This post is not sponsored and all opinions are my own. If there are rainy seasons in North Carolina, it's usually the summer and winter. Summer is drenching thunderstorms and winter is just a steady drizzle on and off every other week. A coir, fabric or jute doormat is great if you want to show […]
We're finalizing the exterior hardscaping around the mudroom and one thing that stuck out like a sore thumb was the meter box. It's that pale grey color and against the red brick, it was just too loud. So I decided to spray-paint it, and the payoff was immediate! There's really only one portion that you […]
Bowls (similar) | Platter | Copper Candlestick (similar) | Taper Candles | Wooden Serving Utensils | Plaid Tablecloth (similar) Late summer hits, and it's like the world collectively moves on to fall. But there is still an abundance of tomatoes and bright greens at the market. And it's actually the perfect time of year to […]
There are two types of boots I'm seeing everywhere this season that create two very different silhouettes for your favorite outfits. One is a very slender boot, often with a pointed toe. Because jeans are getting wider (hello to my new favorite pair), it's great to have a slim boot that you can zip up […]
