This month I was inspired by chalkboard lettering artist,
Dana Tanamachi. She is incredible and inspiring. This was my first try at chalkboard lettering. It was challenging. It took me a long time, but I am happy with the results and I definitely will try again in future months.
I chose a quote from a wonderful Christmas message from Jeffrey R. Holland:
"Only when we see that sacred, unadorned child of our devotion—the Babe of Bethlehem—will we know why the giving of gifts is so appropriate."
You can read the whole, wonderful message
here.

Happy December, friends.
Thats awesome, I really want to learn how to write like that with chalk!
Neighbor you are seriously TALENTED! If I install a chalkboard will you run over every month and create a masterpiece for us?? JK- my kids would probably smudge it- great work! Fun to find your blog!
Thanks for the love!!! I am so flattered that you have been checking out our blog.
*blushing* you're too kind.
daaaang, girl! looks great!
jaw dropping! this is amazing.
Oh, my gosh! Julia, you are so talented. But it needs to be somewhere other than your laundry room, like your front entry. Love them all!
Very nice!! Your handwriting is beautiful!
Love it! It's so nice to see this type of chalkboard that is being used and enjoyed for periods of time. I dislike the chalkboard "walls" that look so messy and chalky. This is a real work of art! I am dying to see the finished room in your basement!!!
WOW! Once I saw this I knew I needed to quit stalking you and give you some love :) This is amazing. Who knew the tall, beautiful, dedicated sista was so talented?! Love your blog. Love seeing you enjoy this stage of your life. Love seeing you and Chris ("he looks just like the guy from the office"- I don't remember who said that, you or Nilsson) create together. Awesome!

Oh Lexy. You are so nice. Thanks, girl!
I cannot tell you how much I wish you were able to sell the artwork from this chalkboard drawing. Months later, I still can't get this image out of my mind. If there was any way, I would totally buy it... just saying ;)
