At the end of each month, I go through the camera roll on my phone and am shocked at how many moments we fit into the span of 30 days. September started with a weekend stay at the beach, where my sister Andi took some of my favorite family photos of all time. Then, somehow, this month, we fit in a photo shoot for two ( I repeat, two!) upcoming product collaborations. The first is with the winner of our plush blanket test, Lola Blankets, and the second is with our favorite phone case, Walli! Both of which we're freaking out about and dying to show you the collections (coming, like really soon 🤫). Also notable, this month, we introduced the plans for our upcoming mudroom renovation. Unfortunately, demo still hasn't started, but we're hoping to make some big progress in October!
When Andi mentions, "Hey, I brought my camera. Do you want me to grab some beachside family pics?" you say yes. This was Cricket's first time seeing the ocean, and nobody was surprised by how much she loved it. So grateful to have pics to timestamp the magic from that weekend.
A little BTS moment from our shoot with Lola. Can you guess which colors I chose for the blankets??
Admittedly, I'm starting to feel like 2023 is already rushing to an end. Anybody else? This week, we had a photo shoot for a Christmas campaign in our living room (which probably isn't helping with this fleeting feeling). We set up and took down Christmas decorations all in one day because aside from all the content we create for ourselves, sometimes brands hire us as a creative studio to produce content exclusively for them to use. Don't worry, though; we're still going all out this autumn season. This month, we decorated for fall in the living room and kitchen, tested fall candles and fall Pura scents, shared some not-so-scary Halloween decor, and put together some Halloween party-throwing tips.
Each month, there are always a few favorite products of mine that stand out from the crowd. Some of these are tried and true things I've had, and some are new discoveries that made an impression this month. Here's what made the list:
First, we have the infamous UGG platform slippers. I really wanted these last year, but they sold out before I got a chance. They're definitely going to sell out again, so grab them while you can! At the end of every work day, I slide my feet into these and just melt with delight. Some recommend sizing down.
Next, we have this cute, spooky puzzle. Highly recommend busting out a fall or Halloween puzzle this time of year. We brought this one for our beach house stay and had the best time putting it together. Here are some other fun Halloween puzzles to jump into.
These branches are perfect in every way — the perfect size, perfect weight, perfect color, and most notably, the price is right. They look good in every room, which is why I keep moving them around. See my other favorite fall branches.
This was one of the fall candles we tested, and it's definitely a repeat buy. The black canister is stunning, and I’m obsessed with the leather strap detail on the wooden lid. Oh, and the wax inside is black, and I love how you can hear the wood wick flickering when it’s lit. The good news is it smells just as amazing as it looks.
Despite my attempt to avoid sugar, I visit this glass pumpkin canister in my kitchen at least ten times a day because it holds the ever-so-addictive Candy Corn Mix Chris keeps making. Shop Pumpkin jars for every budget.
We just hung these curtains up in Greta's room, and I'm absolutely in love with them. Here are some other favorite striped curtains I'm loving.
If I designed my perfect sweatshirt, this is what it would look like. Wearing this all the time lately.
Okay, okay, we have way too many family movie nights NOT to have a few TV trays to keep our snacks in arm's reach. Game changer. We keep them folded up and in the storage closet when they're not in use.
Shea's coffee table book launched this month, and it's such a good one. Of course, I had to include it in my top 36 coffee table books.
Slouchy jeans are having such a moment, and I'm all for it. But the real reason I keep wearing these is because they're so comfy.
This vase is everything you want a vase to be. It's such a good, warm, neutral tone and substantial size.
Lately, I've been loving this color of green. I got this bag in a different shape, which was such a rare splurge for me, and after I shared about it, you all sold it out. I'm also eyeballing the woven checkered colorway.
