Last Wednesday morning, at just over 20 weeks, we went in for our anatomy ultrasound for our little bebe. It happened to also be my birthday. Total happenstance. I always have my appointments on Wednesday morning, but what better day to find out if we would be adding a little boy or girl to our family?!
After a look at every inch of our completely healthy little baby, the ultrasound tech announced that we were on team…
PINK!!!! Considering I was so certain in my mind that I was carrying a boy (the dreams! the cravings!)–we had talked about boy names and I started thinking about a boyish nursery–I was so surprised to hear we would be having another girl come April. I think I repeated it about 10 times before we left the room. Ha! We are, of course, so excited. Thrilled! I know girls. :)
Our family, whom we told over the holiday, seemed to ask the same two questions: First, What did Greta say? And then, what will be her name?! When we told Greta that we were having a little girl–that sister that she has been asking for, she said that she was having a baby chick. And that was that. She has since acknowledged a “baby girl that’s her sister” in my tummy, but we’re taking it slow. And as for names, we didn’t decide on “Greta” until she was born. We have a few in our back pockets but we like to see our babies before deciding on a definite name–and bonus!–that eliminates those opinions some people like to give about liking the name or not.
Team Pink! Another girl! So happy. Let the nursery planning begin!

Yay!! I am so glad to come across someone else having a girl! I’m due in March with our second pink bundle of joy….everyone I know is having BOYS! So glad I have a blog to read about with some fun girly posts! Congrats to your family. Love reading your blog :)
I totally thought it was going to be a boy. No idea why, just had a feeling. A wrong feeling apparently. Congratulations! :) I have a sister close in age and it’s amazing having a built-in best friend :)
Congratulations! Greta seems like she will be a great big sister!
Love this news!!!! What a happy household you will be :)
I had our first daughter a few months ago, and life has never been so funny, fulfilling, intense, and amazing. What a ride!
