We have had a game night once a month with a mix of family and friends for years! A group of 6 seems to be the sweet spot and through all of our moves, one thing that makes it feel like home is game night. While hosting a game night with adults is a blast, nothing beats a family game night with our girls. Our family generally doesn’t do screen time during the weeknights (no judgment if you do!), so many evenings, we’ll play a game. Our girls are ages 7, 10, and 14 now, and they can beat me at a lot of board and card games now, so it’s more competitive. I recently got some new games on Walmart (which, seems to have the best prices!) — when I realized that I’ve bought *most* of our games on Walmart. The most recent favorite in our house is Clue: Harry Potter edition, since we were at Harry Potter World recently. The board even looks like the Marauder’s Map!

Here are more games that we play as a family that are great for kids that are all in stock on Walmart—just in time for the holidays! (psst. When I showed this list to Faye, she wanted me to point out that I forgot Chameleon and Take 5—her current favorites.)

  1. Five Crowns $13
  2. Monopoly Deal $9
  3. Cover Your Assets $17
  4. Clue: Harry Potter $40
  5. Nertz $25
  6. Yahtzee $8
  7. Play Nine $15
  8. Uno Flip Attack $22
  9. Hues & Cues $20
  10. Piggy Piggy $8
  11. Wavelength $31
  12. Cards Against Humanity: Family Edition $16

My favorite game growing up was Pit and we still love to play it! What was yours?

  1. Always look forward to your games post. Thanks for sharing all of these – going to get some as gifts. My favorite growing up that I played with my friends was aggravation & clue. Also the picture of you 2 in the last post is so lovely.
