A grab-and-go protein snack that doesn’t contain grain, gluten, or dairy is harder to come by than one might think. It’s not until you develop sensitivities to these foods and start reading every single food label that you realize nearly all packaged protein snacks contain whey, rice, quinoa, grain-based syrups, oats, or any number of off-limits fillers.
That’s why I came up with these plant-based protein balls—to give Julia a clean, delicious option she could reach for whenever she needed a quick protein and energy boost.

These protein balls come together in just a few minutes, and each bite contains 10 grams of clean protein, as well as the complex carbs and healthy fats needed for sustained energy through that inevitable afternoon lull.
To create a great variety of textures and maximize nutrients, we use a calculated blend of:
- Vanilla plant-based protein
- Creamy peanut butter & peanut powder
- Hemp hearts & chia seeds
Take a few minutes to whip up a batch of these for yourself or someone you care about, and let me know what you think in the comments below. They have quickly become a favorite for the entire family.
