The Best Lawn Games

June 24, 2022

We've been focusing on outdoor spaces on the blog this month (if you haven't noticed!) and today is a fun one–all about lawn games! You're never too old for a lawn game! Both Chris and I grew up playing games outside and so of course we love doing that with our friends and family.

Growing up, my family played a lot of bocce ball, and Chris's family played ladder toss! Currently, our go-to game is cornhole, mostly because I've discovered I'm weirdly good at it. We brought it to the beach! That's how much we love it and it's also small enough to pack around. In our backyard we're going to have a grassy area where I imagine we'll play some croquet, bocce ball, cornhole and whatever else the heart wants! We found a bunch of lawn games that will double as fun and also aesthetic. Did your favorite lawn game make the list?

  1. You're missing Finska/Molkky (same game, goes by two different names) - it's THE BEST. You must try if you haven't already! It's deceptively much harder than you think but so much fun if you have a big group!

Canadian Cowboy: Not Your Average Western Look

I loved seeing fresh takes on Western wear. It goes to show there's room for fashion in every aesthetic. Recently I saw this funny interview with Brett Goldstein of Ted Lasso fame. He said he recently went to Texas for the first time (he's English if you're unaware), put on a cowboy hat and immediately […]

My Tell-All Review of Composite Cutting Boards

This post is not sponsored and all opinions are my own. Nothing matches a beautiful wooden cutting board (our Boos board lives on my counter—it's a piece of art and sturdy as an ox). The drawback with wooden cutting boards is they can't be cleaned in the dishwasher. For anyone cutting meat, seafood, or anything […]

How to Perfectly Cook a Steak in Any Kitchen

The best way to make a steak is indoors. That's not a concession! It's done in all of the best steakhouses. They don't tend to use a grill, even though that is where most of us start when it comes to cooking a steak. This time of year? I'd rather be indoors than freezing outside, […]
