After a long 15 months, all of the subzero wolf kitchen appliances we ordered are finally in place! The waiting game has been painful, and I'm not ready to say it was worth it... But it's nice to finally have the kitchen we dreamed of.
In anticipation of a full kitchen reveal coming soon, today is all about the freezer and refrigerator we've been anxiously waiting for. Because Chris is always cooking up a storm, having both a full-sized freezer and fridge on either side of the range was a key element in the kitchen design. Stoffer planned for both to be cabinet paneled, along with the dishwashers and fridge drawers, and every piece was measured and ordered accordingly. This is why we couldn't just pivot and order new appliances with delay after delay. This kitchen was made with Subzero Wolf appliances in mind, and the only choice we had was to practice some patience and sit tight.

We knew it would be months out before they would arrive, but had we known they would get delayed past a year... we would have chosen other appliances with more promising lead times. Just one of the many things that can derail a renovation.
As nice as it is to have our new appliances all in place, perhaps the biggest relief is finally moving out the big eye-sore fridge/freezer that's been blocking all the natural window light since December 2021!

You can see it lurking in the background of this pic, but it's officially gone! The moment the new owners hauled it away, I audibly gasped at all the newfound light in the kitchen.
Okay, okay, let's get into the details!

The Cabinet color is Stoffer Home Cabinetry Bromley Taupe, as is the rest of the kitchen. They really outdid themselves with these gorgeous panels (I will get into it more below). The cabinet pulls (also from Stoffer) on these babies are freaking substantial. Not only are they stunning, but they're a perfect size for gripping and pulling open such a large-scale door.
We went with the 36-in wide panel-ready classic refrigerator and freezer. Originally when the freezer first arrived a couple of months ago, I was freaking out! The freezer was a lot shorter than the build-out space for it, and I thought, "Oh no! We ordered the wrong one." Turns out Jean Stoffer is a genius and designed the panel to be taller than the actual freezer and fridge. The appliances are 84-in tall, and the front panels extend to 95-in. The scale of our 10-ft ceilings would have made the fridge and freezer look super short and squatty, but with the taller panels, the kitchen is elongated. It's an illusion and a piece of art. Jean really knows what she's doing.
*A 6-ft Julia for scale.
I did get some questions asking why we wouldn't use that open space for storage. We're not really short on storage in this kitchen! I'm fine with the empty space remaining unused.
Despite the long wait, we are really pleased with the fridge freezer! They both light up brilliantly, so you can see absolutely everything you have on hand, even with the 24-in depth.
The freezer has:
Of course, it's also equipped with an automatic ice maker, but we also have the pebble ice maker over by the drink station.
The refrigerator has:
Of course, the weekend it arrived, Chris and I spent some time organizing all of the contents. We took to the container store to get a bunch of clear containers to store all the produce and foods in!

Chris cooks with mostly fresh ingredients, so the fridge mostly stores fresh herbs, produce, and meats. Oh, and lots of condiments and sauces! Here's how we organized everything from top to bottom, left to right.
Up on the top shelf, we keep leftovers stored in our Rubbermaid containers and a turn table of jarred things like pickles. We're big pickle lovers.
Then we've got containers of herbs, ginger, lemongrass, and tiny peppers. Just any type of flavor additives that Chris uses while cooking.
On the next shelf, we have even more produce! Fresh limes and lemons, berry baskets, carrots, and celery.
Then there are containers of prepped fruits and veggies ready for snacking; mini cucumbers, sliced bell peppers, grapes, mango, and pineapple! We found these egg trays on Amazon, perfect for stacking. My favorite part is that they roll forward when you grab one from the front.
The deli drawer holds cheeses, yogurts, and of course, deli meats.
The crisper drawer has three of these removable dividers that came with the fridge. In one, we have apples, and the other two store leafy greens like lettuce, spinach, and cabbage.
Last but not least, the bottom drawer has the same removable dividers, and in it, we keep all of our meats plus a bin of bread since we don't eat very much bread.
Oh, and the doors hold Chris's favorite sauces, condiments, butter, etc.

The reason we don't keep milk stored in the refrigerator is because of these refrigerator drawers we have over by the beverage station. Everything that we use to make smoothies like milk, nut milk, coconut water, and juice, is kept here.
Every time I walk past, I can't help but open up the fridge, and not because I'm looking for something to eat, but because it's like candy to my eyes. Now I know how Taylor Swift felt dancing in the refrigerator light.
Of course, it didn't take me long at all to fill the space where the fridge was...
I was already loving this article, then you hit me with the All Too Well ref. I think I may faint.
Looks amazing! Love your home and your content. Enjoy the the light and refrigerated perishables.
It really does look dreamy. I am so happy your whole family can now enjoy it!
It’s beautiful! I think the brass stools are a perfect final touch and give it shine and more traditional french cafe look.
Beautiful kitchen! What is the color of the cabinets/paint?
Beautiful! Can't wait to see the 'full reveal'. I would love to see shots in that post of the light fixtures at night with them on.. in my mind, they all look to put out such a cozy glow but want images to know for sure!
