Yesterday we talked about falling in love with your home by creating rituals, and today we’re going to start putting some simple, meaningful rituals into practice. Practice, being the key word here, because no ritual was made overnight. It takes time to build your morning routine, your evening routine, your “weekend s’mores roasting” routine, but before you know it, you’re always stocked with marshmallows, and looking forward to the next backyard hangout.

To get started on creating a ritual, we have a little worksheet for you to work through.

Download the worksheet with this link right here, print it out, and get cozy while you put pen to paper. List out your favorite spots at home, rituals you currently have, and then at the bottom, list 3 rituals you’d like to have, and your action plan to implement one this week. Your rituals can be as big or small as you’d like, but make sure it’s something to make you feel happier at home. This is a love story between you and your home, and these moments might seem silly to some, but in reality, they are the the moments that build a stronger foundation to the relationship.

Here’s some routines and rituals in the archives to get your cogs turning!

A Helpful Reminder

Sometimes you might already have a daily routine but need to just enhance it. I do my makeup nearly every day because it really gives me a pep in my step and it’s something I enjoy. Making space for a vanity in our primary closet was the best thing I could have done for myself. I sat down in that comfy chair and caught up on Marco Polo messages while I did my makeup. Carving out that special me-time was the self-care I needed to start my day. So before you try to re-invent the wheel, maybe you can just make a small shift in a routine you already have.

  1. I’m excited to see what ideas other people come up with so we can implement more rituals. Maybe a weekly game night or a regular s’mores night or night when we outside. During Covid we started having a weekly movie night in our loft where we have a projector set up and it has been so fun. We also have a weekly pizza night that we make in our pizza oven. I have a weekly bath night on Saturday nights.
