Every room benefits from some greenery, but not every floral arrangement needs to be real to be beautiful and grounding!
If you think fake flowers are out of place in your elegant home, think again. We’ve rounded up some of the most sunning artificial flowers that will have you rethinking why you’re hauling out a watering can every week. One of the keys to making faux stems look high-end is to pair them with a vase that also elevates your decor—not something you got at a grocery store.

Quick tip:
- If the stems are too long, you can either clip them with wire snips or bend the stems back (as long as you’re not using a clear vase).
- Stems usually look best in groupings of odd numbers.
- You can use floral foam to control how the stems stack/lay—this is especially helpful with a wider-mouthed vase.
- Think about contrast when you have multiple stems in the same room. For example, if you have hydrangeas on the coffee table, go for something branchy on the mantle.
1. Silver + Hydrangeas
There’s something so “modern heirloom” about the patina of silver mixed with the architectural weight of a hydrangea. It feels lived-in but intentional, like something you’d find in a curated English cottage.

2. Lilacs + Glass Vase
The trick with faux lilacs is all in the “droop.” You want them to look slightly heavy, as if they’re just moments away from scenting the whole room. In a clear glass vase (inspiration), they add a soft, romantic verticality to a bedside table or mantle.
While I love the look of a white lilac arrangement, they can also be an opportunity to add a pop of color. (I love the look of them here.)
3. Oversized Snowball Arrangement
If you have a large kitchen island or a deep dining table, you need scale. Snowball viburnum has that gorgeous, chunky texture that fills a room without feeling too precious. It’s a total “look-at-me” moment.

4. Hydrangeas + Footed Silver Vase

This is where the floral foam becomes your best friend. By mounding the hydrangeas low and tight in a footed bowl, you create a classic centerpiece that feels substantial and expensive. It’s the perfect “quiet luxury” addition to a formal dining room.
5. Peonies + Column Vase
Peonies can easily look “craft store” if you aren’t careful, but putting them in a structured column vase gives them a modern edge. Look for stems with varied stages of bloom—some tight buds and some full petals—to keep people guessing if they’re real.
6. White + Blue Classic Arrangement
Inspired by this look, you can never go wrong with a classic blue-and-white moment. It’s timeless for a reason. I like the idea of modernizing the look with a structured white vase and blue hydrangeas.
7. Single Stem + Marble Vase
Sometimes less is so much more. A heavy, honed marble vase with a single, sculptural branch or bloom is the ultimate minimalist statement. It’s art, honestly.
8. Paperwhites + Compote Bowl
We love paperwhites for that “winter-to-spring” transition. Tucking them into a low compote bowl (like this!) with some faux moss at the base makes them look like they were just harvested from a greenhouse. It’s such a fresh, organic look.
9. Lilacs + Terracotta
This is such a beautiful play on textures. The dusty, chalky finish of terracotta grounded by the soft purple of the lilacs feels very “collected.” It’s an easy way to bring an earthy, garden-inspired vibe indoors, like in this Pinterest photo.
10. Budding Branches + Glass Vase
There is nothing more fresh-looking than budding branches, take it from this inspo. In a clear vase, the focus is on the silhouette. It adds height and movement to a room without blocking the line of sight—perfect for an entryway console.
11. Tall Vase + Faux Pears + Branches
Adding fruit-on-the-branch is one of our favorite ways to add a “designer” touch, like I did in this video. It feels a bit more unexpected than just leaves and adds a lovely weight and pop of color to a tall, dark corner.
12. Oversized Vase + Leafy Branches
If you have a double-height ceiling or a large empty nook, go big. These oversized leafy branches create a “canopy” effect indoors. It’s the easiest way to make a room feel finished and lush without any maintenance.
13. Tulips + Petite Vase
Tulips are classic spring florals for a reason. Set these on a stack of books or a bathroom vanity for a tiny, happy moment.

Thank you for sharing this. I have noticed flowers and greenery, whether faux or real, make a big difference in the feel of my home. I appreciate your tips on how to use the stems and vases and the links to purchase them.
