Everyone gets excited to decorate for fall (same!) but an often overlooked element of decorating is how a home smells. Scent is such a powerful tool in making your home feel warm, welcoming, and seasonal. I’ve been a big fan of Pura’s smart diffusers since I first heard about them a couple of years ago. You can put them in rooms around your home and set them to turn off and off at certain times—plus control the intensity. That signature scent is one of the things people always notice when they come over, and it’s so easy to set up!
I wanted to come up with a list of my favorite subtle fall scents, that are going to feel a little more exotic and sophisticated. I definitely want some spicy or woodsy notes in there like cardamom, amber and cedar. Then I want a scent to be rounded out with a little bit of sweetness like a great plum or fig scent. You can always go for an obvious fall scent like Pumpkin Spice & Black Walnut (smells so heavenly… like a not-too-sweet pumpkin pie coming out of the oven) or something more year-round like Egyptian Sandalwood.

The easiest way to make sure my home smells incredible at all times is keeping a rotation of my favorite seasonal scents in my Pura smart diffuser. I just set them on a timed program and it does the hard work of making my home smell amazing for me!

I jumped onboard the Pura wagon, but most of the scents I’ve tried are way too perfume-y for my allergy sensitivity. I’ve bought several that I actually threw away, just couldn’t handle, gave me a migraine.
I’ll try one more time, fingers crossed.
